If I set my IP lease time to forever will it stop it from fucking up?

TWC was telling me the problem was that I have my wifi channel set to auto and that when it changes channels it goes slow, but it seems more like ip conflicts to me. It is usually when I leave an come back with a wifi device it does not want to work on the network, possibly because the ip it was using has been reissued to another device?

i just wanted to tell you guys this fixed all my problems with everything fucking up....why does TWC not send out their modems setup like this?
