Apple MacBook Pro MD322LL/A-R Intel Core i7 2760QM (2.40 GHz) 4 GB Memory 750 GB HDD (replaced with 120gb SSD) AMD Radeon HD 6770M 15.4" Mac OS X (updated to el captain or whatever)
I paid around $1,100.00 for this thing in june off new egg. I gave it to my wife and shes been in having issues with it. it pixelates really bad after about a week and shuts down. I thought it may have been the HD so i put a 250gb SSD in it, and still didn't fix it. Doing some research i believe its the video card overheating on this model year which is built into the logic board. Logic boards are about $300. I've ran the repair, reinstalled, NVRAM resets, etc. and still didn't fix it so im pretty sure its something on that.
I'm not working on it or buying a logic board if she rarely uses it and keeps going back to her windows laptop anyway.
just looking to unload it - $400. It will boot. It might run for a day or two then just acts weird. I have not taken to the apple store or anything.

I had to get a new logic board for my 2011 Macbook Air. I took it to the Apple Store and they repaired it for $280 11/22/2015 9:26:28 PM |

Hey, Novicane (and Fhqwhgads, you should read this, too): I had a similar issue with my 2011. Apple has a repair program for these MacBooks if your model is one of the known affected ones. Check it out:
http://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro-videoissues/
I originally paid for mine in June 2014 but got the repair bill fully refunded back in March. Note that it doesn't matter that the MacBook is out of warranty. If your wife's is one of the affected models, you could get it repaired for free.
And Fhqwhgads, you can probably get your bill refunded. I got an email from Apple with the subject line "Refund Information - MacBook Pro Service Request." They provided a link for me to start the claim. You should check your email for that, and if you didn't get the message, hit up the support site: https://getsupport.apple.com/

I had to get my Mid 2012 Retina repaired last year sometime. Didn't know there was a recall I just thought my AppleCare covered it. New logic board, new display (I mentioned a few dead pixels), new battery basically new everything.
