So we can say that Ethan Hunt is American 007 now.

Except that he isn't. Remember, they tried that in the second film and it failed miserably. Ethan Hunt is not a rouge assassin such as Bond or Bourne. He functions as a team-leader and strategist and in that regard is probably more comparable to somebody like Captain America.

BTW, that^ is one of the most blatant Han Solo rip-offs that we've ever seen.

I reviewed mi2 motorcycle chasing scene. Stupid but epic. So they embedded this again into mi5. Make it the icon of the series.
