How many titles can I put into my name before I get a dealer/fee/fine? I think I am at 5 vehicles right now and don't want to go over before the year is up.

Thanks all!

is there a limit for personal vehicles? Are you trying to title all of them in your name this year?

Pretty sure it is 5, but that's buy/sell transactions I think, not just buying.

ah,

I called the DMV and the lady never heard of this rule. I know several others are aware of it.

Doesn't look like I'll be getting another vehicle so I think I am ok haha.

Thanks all

I think that the above is correct, buy and sell....they really want that dealer registration money.

I recently became a licensed dealer. What a pain. For not much benefit, but I wanted to check it out.

Pretty sure it's more than 5. I want to say 9.

I don’t think anybody cares how many you BUY, I think the selling end is where you run into issues. If you’ve legally bought and paid taxes on each one though, I feel like the state’s getting quite a bit of money from that, so I’m not sure they’d be worse off vs. doing it w/a dealer’s license?
