I thought there was a way to modify the field code in Word to produce a custom format that would be picked up by the automated TOC in word.

The stock code is: = {page \* mergeformat }, which produces normal numbers (1, 2, etc)

However, I want to add an identifier for different parts of the document, such as ES-1, ES-2, etc. Isn't there a way to do that?
