1.Which arenas have student sections on floor level of all sides of the court like us?

2. Is there any ranking information on largest student ticket allotments by school?

I feel like we must have on of the best setups in the country but there doesn't seem to be any data out there. Obviously any blog is going to pick the best atmospheres and call them the best student sections.

1. I think we are the only one or the closest one in the acc. I know Michigan state has a high degree of this but haven't looked at many crowds close enough

I bet someone like banjoman can answer these questions.

Why?
Is it because the tv cameras show that side or do you just think its better to put all the students together instead of all the way around the court?

I always though the baseline floor and riser was the only part of the syracuse student section. its hard to tell but that is definitely the "raucous" part of the crowd.

are you talking about the atmosphere (duke would be the best), the arrangement (op) or a combination of both?

[Edited on January 31, 2016 at 2:06 PM. Reason : I wanted to focus just on arrangement because i think the atmosphere is dependent on team success ]

i'm not wondering about what the students are doing, but am focusing on where they are sitting.

This thread is not about the spirit of the student section. its about the size, placement, and distribution of the student sections throughout the arena.

I could've sworn I said that in the O.P.

I was at Virginia last year. Definitely a good student section - not really certain why they'd be considered the best in the country though.

Maryland has one of the best set ups. Very similar to ours in that they mostly encircle the court, have the second half visitor basket shooting against the larger wall of students, and it's large in size. Only one area at half the baseline doesn't have students which has media members.
