Chances Missed: 1st
Hit woodwork: 1st
Shots: 2nd
Shots on target per game: 2nd
Key Passes: 2nd

Goals:7th

Fucking give me Chicharito back. Should be challenging Chelsea for the title.

Lots of positives but the confidence in finishing is atrocious and that is the biggest issue. Zlatan has been guilty of it too. 4-6 draws that we realistically should have won out the 11. Its also very surprising that a majority have been at home. I think its very obvious that we are having a hard time breaking down teams in the final third and an even harder time finishing those chances when we do get them. In my opinion we need a deep lying playmaker that can defend and allow Pogba to push up the pitch. A player like Matic would be perfect.

Take our chances in Europa. Get CL. Get more of Mourinho's players and clear out this dead wood.

I'd be pretty surprised if United win the Europa. Your lot doesn't score enough just as you've said.

^^ I am not saying we will win Europa I am just saying we have to take our chances in Europa because at this point it is the only way we get CL in my opinion. I haven't seen enough from this team to feel remotely confident about Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham still to come.

However I do think the two leg format of the Europa favors us well. My worry is the team looks tired already and I am hoping the recent injuries means some of these players have gotten some rest. I absolutely hate playing in Europa mainly because what ends up happening if your progress in that tournament is too many rescheduled fixtures. Jose has already managed 50 matches for us as well. Europa is our best shot at CL but also another trophy to add that we haven't historically won. We should go all out for it.

I guess it's about time for the annual Tottenham breakdown.

WTF JUST HAPPENED

Can't watch the game while at work but I had the match center live text commentary open. Left my desk to go talk to a co-worker at like 85mins. Came back at it had gone from Swansea 1-0 Spurs to 1-3 in the span of 10 mins.

Injuries killing this team man. Klopp should've gone out and got some players in January.

Not going to be pretty without Lallana and Mane to close out the season.

Still buzzing from that 8 minute flurry to end the game this morning.

This team never gets down, they never give up, and they always keep the faith in each other. They've had their backs against the wall multiple times this season and consistently find a way to fight out of it.

It really is a special group and I hope they get rewarded with a trophy sooner or later.

Thanks

It's obvious Chelsea are leaking oil badly and they're just trying to get it over the line while Spurs are surging. I still don't have much confidence it will be enough though. We need them to drop points again at home somewhere for it to begin to get realistic these last few matches.

However this FA Cup semi this weekend is going to be massive. If we go out there and thrash them it could do some more mental damage to their already fragile confidence. I'm hoping we make a statement of intent.

My only concern with the title race is that Tottenham's run in is a lot tougher than Chelsea's. Spurs still also have to play us (despite being at WHL).

That said Chelsea losing this weekend and then they have two potentially bogey fixtures in Everton and WBA both away from home. Lets see.

I'm not being dismissive of Man U because I would say this about any of the other 5 clubs if they were that date, but I just don't see us not coming out and getting the result there. We've not lost at home all season and smashed 95% of the teams that have walked out on our patch.

Combine that with our form right now, title aspirations, and the last home match ever at WHL and you've got a massive ask to walk away with points that day.

We basically have to win out to feel like there is any chance I reckon.

No I agree. I think out of all of our matches left Tottenham is the toughest by far. However, the scenario you have described (last match at home and title pressure) is the exact kind of thing Mourinho feeds upon. United are far from where we want to be but Mourinho has made us a very difficult team to beat and I am looking forward to the tactical battle in that one.

I suppose for us it will depend on if we progress to the semi finals of the Europa because then our fixture list would be:

5/04 - First Leg of Semi Final
5/07 - Arsenal Away
5/11 - Second Leg of Semi Final
5/14 - Tottenham Away

I think by then we will have a clearer picture of how we stand in Europa (if we advance) and if we need to finish top 4. Spurs will most likely have a weakened United if we are in the Semi Final simply because I think Mou will be going all out for the Europa at that point, especially with the second leg. However if we beat City and Arsenal and still have a chance at top 4 then you can expect a defensive masterclass that may frustrate everyone.

Can't see Juve's defense folding like PSG's today. They just don't concede enough to let Barca back in it.

I'm thinking a Juve/Real final would be highly entertaining.

I don't think the league matters for us anymore. At least it shouldn't in my opinion. We have a relatively good draw for the semi final and we should be going all out for the Europa now. Fuck the league, too many injuries already.

Europa fucks with your season so much with the extra fixtures. Lets just win it and get it done with please. I do not want it next year.

On another note. Zlatan has torn is ACL and PCL. Most likely career over. What a sad ending if true.

I don't think that you can put all your eggs in one basket like that. Can Jose even afford to lose to City next week? That wouldn't be a good look at all if he starts mailing it in on that front.

Plus, even though you got Celta, Lyon is no cakewalk in the Final. It would be travesty to give up on the league and then go out that way. It would be smart to fight like hell on both fronts considering you're 5th now.

lol Jose isn't going to lose his job regardless of what happens. The fans are considerably more happier despite the league position not showing it. I have been saying since February those early draws are going to cost us dearly at the end of the season and that is exactly what is happening.

The players are extremely tired and we have massive injuries across every position. I hope Jose doesn't bother with the league anymore, we simply don't have the depth for it now. I agree winning the Europa isn't a definite but its a lot easier to win 3 matches then it is to win 7, especially when we have to go to the Etihad and to WHL.

I fully expect us to lose to City but I imagine the next three matches will determine if we want to really challenge on all fronts:

Burnley
Man City
Swansea

Win all three (doubtful of even winning two) and we may give it a go. I expect we will beat Burnley. Lose to city and then draw to Swansea after Jose rests the majority of squad ahead of Celta Vigo. I expect a nervy 0-0 or 1-1 in Celta and then Jose resting more players for Arsenal before going all out at home against Celta.

Antonio Conte: "I think this season it's very important to understand that it's not always about who spends more money who wins. Otherwise, in Premier League, the names of the teams at the top would not be Chelsea or Tottenham or Arsenal or Liverpool."

lmao at a chelsea manager saying this.

Would be hilarious if United finished in the top 4 (Unlikely I know) and still won the Europa. My personal wish list is for us to beat city 3-0 on Thursday to go third and see pool and city lose out to United and Arsenal. That would be hilarious with the amount of shit talking pool fans have done this year.
