In the past five years I've become a huge Neil Young fan. I saw him at Horde Fest when I was young and had Harvest in middle school but now I've almost listened to his whole discography (in order) and have really grown an appreciation to his prolific output and musicianship in many genres. I just finished Chrome Dreams II (a typical Young album with a few long jams and dabbling in a few genres), Fork in the Road (I kinda hated this car themed album), and Le Noise (solo album with a bunch of great tunes: Angry World and Hitchhiker are highlights) within the past few months. I still have his post 2010 releases to check out (really looking forward to Psychedelic Pill, I've only heard Ramada Inn) and his Archives series.

Anyone else a fan? Check out Decade if you aren't that familiar with him. It's a great collection of his 70s output with a few unreleased tunes.

Favorite Albums (probably in order):
Ragged Glory
Tonight's the Night
Harvest
Harvest Moon
After the Gold Rush
Silver and Gold

Favorite Tunes (not necessarily an order but just all the songs I could think off the top of my head, I'm forgetting many):
Albuquerque
Tell Me Why
Harvest
Birds
Cortez the Killer
Long May You Run
Powderfinger
Bandit
Families
Too Far Gone

Was that the Horde Fest in ?Winston Salem? in like 1997? I was there! I was there to see Beck and Squirrel Nut Zippers, neither of whom were playing that date. Weren't the days before the Internet grand in our not knowing everything going into it?

Re: Neil Young, having just heard his interview on WTF, I've been strongly considering digging back into his catalog and getting into it. I have Harvest, but it basically stops there except for a couple of random songs here and there.

^^ I'm pretty sure you are right although this says Charlotte: http://www.bluestraveler.net/projects/horde/97/index.html. The only bands I remember were Neil Young with Crazy Horse and Blues Travelers. Might have been my first real concert experience and my first time smelling weed. My friend's sister had some extra tickets so we got to go. I wasn't really into music before then but it was kind of a jumping off point. I think Napster came out around that time too and I really started looking for music instead of passively listening.

His ten year run from 69-79 from Everybody Knows to Live Rust is incredible.

^^Charlotte sounds right.

I really liked Neil Young & Soul Coughing from that show.

I realized how boring blues traveller was live (ie 2 min intro 5 min harmonic solo 1 min outro for basically every song)

I have eight neil young albums I really love, the only ones that were critially acclaimed that I couldn't quite get in to were tonights the night, on the beach, and harvest...although in my opinion the two sequels were better than harvest, speaking of which that resurgence he had with freedom..ragged glory...harvest moon was so awesome, there killer albums in a row

I've been listening to On The Beach lately and the last track Ambulance Blues is awesome. I'd throw that into my favorite song list along with Natural Beauty on Harvest Moon. Such a beautiful song.
