I guess this is the iPhone that will cause me to switch to android. I like to charge my phone and listen to music at work and that isn't happening without a headphone jack and I'm not buying wireless headphones. In all reality I will probably just keep my 6 plus a while longer. It still works fine and no other devices seem that much better.

Extremely underwhelming. Also didn't show any kind of cheap (or expensive for that matter) VR solution like the Gear VR.

I've been iphone for the past 4 years and the iphone 5 was my first true smartphone (had a blackberry before) but I think I'm gonna switch to Samsung when my contract expires. Gonna miss the good exclusive apps on the apple store, but I don't use apps as much as I used to anyway, and I still have an ipad.

It comes with the standard apple earbuds with a lightning cord, plus an adapter, plus you can use any other bluetooth earphones.

But I can't believe they are charging $160 for wireless versions of the apple earbuds. Those things suck.

VR is fun, right now it's 100% gimmick, but it's a fun gimmick. It's not something I want to pay $500-700 for right now to buy a rift or a vive, but it's something I'd love to pay $100 for just to screw around.

The Gear VR for $100 was one of the best purchases I've made. Lots of fun especially paired with a bluetooth controller.

So how are you expected to listen to music and charge your phone at the same time? When I travel almost every outlet is taken up by people charging their phone and listening to music.

I think Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave with Apple coming out with an iPhone that ditches the headphone jack but still comes with a wired headphone that you have to use a provided adapter for.

But hey at least the iPhone finally has water resistance. Although it's only IP67. Aren't Samsung phones IP68?

Yes - and Samsung managed to achieve this while still having a headphone jack and a mini SD slot for expandable storage.

The dumbest thing about the release today: We're going to force you to either use an adapter or buy bluetooth, but fuck it, we're Apple so we're going to include wired headphones because Apple.

And are there that many exclusive apps in the Apple store? I have yet to find an app out there that I was like "damn, I sure wish I could get that on my Samsung."

^^The last iPhone I had was the iPhone 4 and the gap was larger then but it's closing these days. I never thought I'd use wireless charging and Samsung Pay but I use my fast wireless charging pad every day and Samsung Pay every day. The only time I use a physical card anymore is at a restaurant where they take your card. They're pretty cool features. I only wish my Note 5 were water resistant though.

I do think the ear pods are pretty cool, I like how the case acts as a battery and that they pair better than Bluetooth along with the smart features. That said, I can't see myself paying $160 for them. I am plenty content with the shitty headphones that came with my old iPhone for casual listening and my nice cans for other times.

$160 is actually super cheap for what they are compared to the other products that came out first. There's various other wireless earbuds that actually look much better (don't have the protruding sticks) and that charge in the case as well. I'll be surprised if Apple pulls them off for that price. Wonder if they'll be shitty quality or not.

One big complaint was from people who listen to music and charge the phone at the same time. I wonder if they will be able to make a splitter for the Lightning input so you could still potentially do that.

Overall not a huge deal either you get an adapter or already have wireless.

Maybe when it first came out years ago but the fast wireless charging on my Samsung is great. You just have to have the "fast wireless charger" instead of the old normal one. It charges super fast almost as fast as the new faster wired chargers.

We ordered two of the 256 GB phones. Joe got the regular 7, and I am trying out the plus for the first time. Joe's will be here Friday and mine some time in October. No plans on buying the ear sticks until we have an opportunity to try them out and see how likely we are to have to replace them when they fall out of our ears!

Joe is loving his new iPhone 7. It's super fast and very responsive. My 7+ is still saying "preparing for shipping" with a delivery date in early October. It sucks to have an adapter for headphones, but oh well. It is what it is.

I updated my 6s to the new iOS and it is taking me a while to get used to the lock screen, but I like the information it displays on the new notification screen. The messaging app is really cluttered now. Currently am having fun with the special effects on the new iMessages, but expect them to become annoying once the novelty of it all goes away.

I've tried mine with and without the case and in both scenarios the static sound goes away as soon as I go back to "normal."

Hey guys, I'm HOOPS. And I have never owned an Iphone, (although I did get the first Iphone touch). I have always been an android man, not because I didnt like the iphone, but because my upgrad schedule was never in sync with the release of the latest iphone.

But it is this year.

So I'm making the switch. Got a Jet Black 7 Plus ordered. When I saw that there was a google photos app available on iOS, I figured I'd give the iphone a try out of curiosity. (I like google photos a lot, and didn't want to have to stop using it, which was another reason I kept getting android).

I like trying new gadgets, and Iphone has been the gold standard for so long, I figured i need to finally get one, since it has the one app I really need from google.

SO, any tips for a totally virgin iphone user?

This is pertty much what happened to me. The google photos app works great on iPhone. You do have to open it up to sync your photos, but that is not a big deal because I go in mine a lot.

The gmail app is aaight.

Other than that I dont miss anything about android. The iphone responds way faster and seems to manage its resources better than android. (battery, processor,memory, etc)
