He has a point if you have the memory of a goldfish.

DACA was enacted by democrats

Democrats pushed hard for gun control many times, even had manchin Toomey which was extremely mild by gun nut standards

Democrats spent the entire summer they had control of Congress getting ACA to pass too

And as a President, just whining about past governments is counter productive— it’s nearly the exact opposite of being productive. He should be talking about what congress should be doing now, or what he thinks it’s best to be doing, that tweet only creates more confusion and uncertainty about what a bill trump wouldn’t veto looks like.

That tweet is almost exactly what a Russian troll tweet would look like, it offers no proposed solutions, it is extremely partisan, it doesn’t recognize the reality that th vast majority of Americans support more gun control, it doesn’t reflect an understanding that 8 years ago was very, very different than now, it’s just completely disingenuous carnival barking.

DACA is the problem though. Differring action is the problem with liberals. They differ action on everything and its the definition of not solving the problem. Why not just make them citizens and then the problem would be solved already. Instead, they kick the can down the road so they can hold these people as hostages for future elections. ACA was like a differed action on healthcare. Sick, sick people.

Democrats don’t fight hard fights, that’s true.

But that’s not what trump is saying — does trump want to legalize daca and Dreamers? He has rejected multiple bipartisan bills doing so.

Instead he just tweets vague innuendo and lets his deplorable bunches use it to deflect actually having to defend their xenophobia.

Trump has embroiled himself in approximately 500x more scandals than Obama

And the GOP Congress seems to be looking on with a stupor

In all honesty I’m fine with him having that on his notes. I’d rather him be reminded to be a human capable of empathy than the alternative.

His ideas are nonsensical and dangerous but the open conversation yesterday was transparent and nice.

A clip of him saying how much he loves to watch himself, and how hard he tries to hide his bald spot. It's kind of bizarre.

Trump is standing at a crossroads right now with the 2nd Amendment.

Given the type of base that he has, and his bases' willingness to go along with him, he could do some really good things in terms of gun control. The bump stock thing is good, but then he goes off on these tangents of arming teachers and movie violence.

Addressing video game and movie violence is like trying to hold back the tide - it ain't gonna happen.

I bet if he put forth a magazine limitation, he could get that put through with relative ease.

Oh, I wasn't necessarily referring to the silly comment he made about rating violence.

I was just referring to how it seems video games have become so realistic and so violent - but hey, there isn't anything we can do about it. It's not like that is something that is going to change. If anything, it will continue to get more realistic.

This gun control thing is painful. Trump is so ridiculously out of his depth that he doesn’t even have the slightest grip on policy. He seriously thought Obama was against Manchin-Toomey..

Looks like some solid income/wage growth numbers without an unexpected rise in inflation. Definitely approaching, if not at, full employment.

It’s unfathomable to me that he is exploring massive steel/aluminum tariffs right now. Gary Cohn must be putting a wig on to pull out his hair.

If he wins the 2020 election he'll start working on removing the term limit.

If he loses the election he'll start barricading himself in the WH.

This is going to be one hell of a economic shoulder shrug. Full employment with massive deficit spending, a tax cut and now protectionist trade policies. CFA books are spontaneously combusting all over the world.

As always, remember just because the POTUS speaks doesn’t mean it reflects his offices actual position.

After a big boom in late December/early January, I made a lot of money on the stock market. Everyone praised Trump and his tax plan for it (despite it not taking effect yet).

But then everything went down, I lost 80% of the gains I had made. It went back up a little bit, but had been holding steady the last 2 weeks

My stocks lost 3% of their value so far today (-25% of the gains I had left).

If people can give him credit for making the market go up, I can blame him for making it go down.

Basically, from what I have read, these tariffs will not hurt China one little bit. It could hurt some of our allies like Canada but doesn’t address the biggest problem with China (IP). They have two choices — high road and work with EU/Canada or respond in kind by going after US agriculture.

Basically, this is a base play that will help a small niche at the expense of the country as a whole.

The sanctions haven’t been put into place yet, Huckabee sanders said “never say never” on if the president is committed

Steel and aluminum touch pretty much everything indirectly, seems like these costs could wipe out a big chunk of any gains from the tax reform bill, if they actually go through with it

Essentially we’re taxing all Americans to boost domestic ore mining and processing?

I would be interested in learning details about how clean American steel production is as opposed to Chinese steel production. Also, how much carbon emissions would be offset by shipping steel regionally instead of globally? In general, globalization is a bad thing when you have the opportunity to locally source materials, but I've never heard anything about steel in particular.
