^From what I understand, the angrier he gets, the bigger/stronger he gets. The upper limit of his strength is never clearly defined.

That being said, you'd think that Hulk chilling next to Thor and just talking would be "calm" enough for him to turn back in to Banner.

Jeepin4x4, I don't think Hulk can control his size. I think it's just artists being inconsistent. Comics artists fuck up on just how big a big character should be all the time.

BanjoMan was over in the Dunkirk thread like are there a lot of Stukas in it, because he needs a movie to be a toy box full of simple shapes and simple ideas to enjoy it.

Just watched this, totally awesome and absolutely hilarious.

Korg the rock monster stole every scene he was in.

Yeah, was pretty funny and good fun. lol @ naked Hulk. Korg was great. I recognized his voice from somewhere and discovered that he was one of the main vampires in the criminally underrated mockumentry, What We Do In the Shadows. Also at Cate Blanchett. What a milf.

Only thing that really stood out to me -- they fit the entire population of Asgard into that one spaceship? And were able to load all of them on there in like 5 mins without any pushing or shoving?

Korg was the director, Taika Waititi (who also directed What We Do In the Shadows)

I loved it, I think I might feel about this the way most people felt about guardians of the galaxy (which is widely loved, and I don’t dislike, but I was a little underwhelmed with). It’s getting harder and harder to rank the marvel movies because they are all so different, but if I had to, I think this would def be in the top 5, I think I would go:

Winter Soldier
Avengers
Civil War
Ragnorock
Iron Man

I have definitely watched civil war the most times, it has the most bad ass fan service awesome live action super hero action ever committed to film, but winter soldier had a lot of the same awesome action, but due to the smaller major character requirements, it was a much tighter overall film, by far the best

I love movies where daggers turn into swords so this film was right down my alley.

Really enjoyed the music and some of the scenes were gorgeous (Valkyrie vs Hela scene was borderline breathtaking).

Preface: I loved this movie, loved it, and found it funnier than Guardians. I've only really seen each movie in the universe once, so this may be misguided but...

Thor in this movie seems to be being played completely differently than in the previous ones, and I mean in a like, Thor reboot kind of way. He's basically being played as a slightly toned down version of the character from that "Team Thor" short they released after Civil War

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPNBKT6JLSU

I'm fine with this, I want to emphasize that, but it seems to me to be the biggest discontinuity in this Avengers universe, almost 2 different characters. Am I remembering the rest of the movies wrong? I remember him being somewhat jovial, but not like this

You aren’t wrong, but I’m 100% fine with it. The first 2 Thor solo movies are generally ranked towards the bottom of the majority of people’s MCU movie rankings, so they probably felt a change was necessary, and it paid off brilliantly, well worth the disconnect from the earlier movies we are many years removed from anyways.

I think the problem with the first two was too much mythology and background shoved in and not enough real character development. I liked the plots though, and at the very least enjoyed Thor's fish-out-of-water experience in the first one.

Looking forward to seeing this one sometime this week.

Saw it...liked it...didn't love it. Felt like they were trying too hard and overcorrected. Plot took of running before giving us a reason to care. You can feel it most in the succession of scenes with Dr. Strange and Odin-by-the-Bay. Then boom, Hela, and we never get to hear Odin explain his side of the story.

Does not make my top 5:
Avengers 1
Guardians 1
Civil War
Winter Soldier
Iron Man 1

Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Most of the jokes landed where they should have. It did feel disconnected from the other Thor movies, and I'm ok with it.

Goldblum's character and Korg were definitely some of the highlights. I could probably watch a standalone Korg movie. I even liked Karl Urban.
