first generation direct injection motors aren't great in the long term

It is a pretty great DD though, fwiw. Never thought I'd have a car more than 3-4 years but here I am

Is HPFP still a thing, or have all the bad ones failed by now (and been replaced by an eleventeenth redesign that works?)

I had to replace a LPFP years back, but the HPFP in mine was replaced via recall before I got it and has been fine since so from my vantage point it's no longer a thing

my '07 had 94k when i sold it with original HPFP. some are on their 5th...

i never had any issues with my HPFP in 4 years and 80k+ miles.

i decided to put the money into boosting my e36
