Unless the big three for the Cavs go off like they did last night offensively, I can't see them posing any real challenge to the Warriors in the finals. Their defense is just too bad. Boston's ball movement is good, but they don't have any real scorers right now and yet they were beating the Cavs until Kyrie went nuts.

I feel like the Cavs defense is good when it needs to be. Their defense looks great in the first two games and they blow-out Boston. Then they rest on their laurels and give up a bunch of open looks the next two games. I imagine it the effort will be maxed out against the Warriors...but I guess we'll see.

I think that is true in spurts, but I think the first two games were largely because Boston couldn't hit a damn shot.

Also their bench players are flat-out awful on the defensive end (not even spurts of average D). D will, Korver, Frye....

^^ I think it was Windhorst who had the stat the other day that Boston had nearly as many open shots in the first two games, they just weren't hitting them

Cavs in 7. I have a hard time going against LeBron/Kyrie, especially since they're the underdogs.

Wouldn't bet on it though.

Yeah, I'm also thinking Warriors in 5. The Cavs just haven't shown they are going to be good enough on D.

I will be rooting for the Cavs to make it a series though.

LeBron the GM should have surrounded himself with players who give half a shit about defense instead of the All-Antidefense Team.

Cavs look sloppy as fuck. Not boxing out, missing tons of open looks, shitty turnovers. Deron Williams looks like he should be in the D-league. Can't believe I use to think he was better than Chris Paul (although he use to destroy him head-to-head). Hope they can clean that shit up and make a decent series.

I spent about 90 mins trying to find a bar in Hong Kong that would show the game at 9:00am (local time) and I finally found one in the red light-ish district and caught the whole game. The Hong Kong prostitutes here really seem to dislike LeBron for some reason and everyone was rooting of the Warriors. Outside of Miami, I don't think I've ever seen so many people doing blow in the open, but I suppose that's my lesson in international culture for the day, TWW. Dubs in 5.

Not a fan of how the game was officiated. They let the players maul each other near the basket. The warriors took advantage with some super physical play, the Cavs were still leaving the paint to get an early jump on 3 pt. shooters. Lebron shot 8 FTs in the first quarter and could have had 16 if they called it when he got fouled.

Cavs aren't gonna have many opportunities where Draymond and Klay are shooting so poorly. They blew a chance to steal one.

Draymond isn't a great shooter anyways...that's the one guy they can leave open. Agreed about Klay...although he's shot fairly poor for the playoffs. I expect him to go off for at least a game or two...but he has a history of being pretty streaky in the playoffs. At the same time...I don't see Durant and Curry combining for 70 points for the entire series. You also have to think that Cleveland won't play this poorly either.

Remember the Warriors beat the Cavs in the first two games last year by a combined 48 points.

And the Warriors would have closed the series out if Green didn't get suspended for a game and Curry didn't get dinged up in the playoffs. I don't think last year's series will have any comparison with this one.

Cavs will phone it in next game and focus on winning game 3 and 4. Lose either one of those and the series is over.

Now you can't be taken seriously. "Phone it in"? Really? They win one in GS and it flips the entire series. And they won two in Golden State last year.

C'mon man...

I don't have to think that. They were getting handily beaten when the warriors couldn't hit a three to save their lives. I don't think Golden State will miss like 20 layups again. And Durant will continue to destroy them if they keep trying to deny the three (he'll destroy them either way, they have no one who can guard him.)

The only guy on the Warriors would couldn't hit a three that normally hits threes was Klay Thompson.

On the flip side, no one for the Cavs could hit anything...save for a slightly decent offensive performance from Lebron and average from Kyrie. Love missed plenty of wide opens looks, Korver was way off, and I think Deron Williams just hit the backboard a couple times.

I was talking about the 1st half where they 3/13 from 3. The Cavs had to sell out to defend the 3 point line and Durant made them pay.

Cleveland has no one who can even remotely defend KD. Lebron tried and failed. Everyone else on that roster is a godawful defender.

See...I missed the first half of the first quarter...but I didn't really see that. Yeah...he got a couple buckets at the basket...but most of the damage that Golden State did in the first half was off of offensive rebounds and turnovers. Those wide open dunks he had in transition wasn't "selling out to stop the three"...it was poor transition defense. The first occurred when Lebron went to cover Curry and instead of Kyrie stopping his man, he also went to cover Curry. That happened twice.

IMO, they lost the game because of 20 turnovers to 4 (I mean...holy fuck that is a disparity) and poor shooting (35% to 42%). I'd add offensive rebounds, but they had one more than GS...which makes sense since they missed a lot more shots.

16 TO differential and you lose by 20+...that makes sense.

Now I won't argue with you if you say that Golden State has a better defense, which is why they will force more turnovers. I just don't think you'll see that disparity again. And I think Cleveland will adjust...at least they'll have to. I was listening to sports radio this morning and they mentioned that Golden State was switching before the pick even got there and that it threw Lebron off...which you rarely see. I'm sure they'll mix that up again...but the point is that adjustments will be made...just like they were last year.

At least I hope so...I'd love to have a series like last years...regardless who wins.

So you also missed the many, many wide open layups and shots from within 10 feet that the Warriors missed in the first quarter. Hell, Zaza missed to open the game because he was so goddamn open he didn't know what to do.

I just don't think that the terrible defense of all the Cleveland starters can be overcome this time with Durant in the fold for Golden State now. Lebron was guarding Durant in the first half. Love switched onto him in the 2nd and all hell broke loose. That's the big issue. James is the only guy they have who can somewhat contain Durant and if he has to play on him the entire series he'll wear down and won't be able to carry the team offensively.

And yeah, I think the turnover disparity will remain. obviously GSW won't have historic low turnovers every night, but they will bring defensive intensity every night and force Cleveland to turn it over. I mean look at Klay Thompson. He played like butt on the offensive end of the floor, but he had a gem of a defensive game.

ZaZa looked like one of the worst players of all time during the first 5 or so minutes or so, almost like it was his first time playing basketball
