Felt a lot better about this game before the loss of Mike Stevens. Still hoping we can control the passing game somewhat with our blitz and strong LB's helping cover off on slants.

^^^^in 2008 we were 13 point dogs and didn't know who our QB was. The QB we did pick was knocked out early. People weren't generally excited.

On the other hand 2009 does match pretty well, we were 5 pt favs and people were pumped. However we HAD lost Irving that summer.

If our D-line is disruptive and stuffs the run (which they are very capable of doing), I think we win pretty easily. With their run game mitigated the linebackers can move a few steps closer to the outside, or they can blitz whenever they want, which should help shut down the dink&dunk short passing game. I think our cornerbacks will struggle regardless, but if they make a few good tackles as well as having LBs fly to the edge to gang tackle I think we will be ok.

If SCar has success running the ball, it'll be a shootout and it's anybody's guess how it shakes out.
