The gauntlet was heavily withered after snapping his fingers. But the stones glowed just as brightly. And the gauntlet clearly kept working, because Thanos was able to use it to portal away.

He wouldn't have really needed the gauntlet to be functional to portal away, the gems were still functional independently. He just can't use them together without a functional gauntlet, at least that's the way I always understood it.

Been rewatching all of the MCU movies. It really is amazing how they've put together, near flawlessly, the universe in which these movies take place. Nearly every character has been organically introduced, not forced. Their backstories are all interesting and fit together.

I think the introduction of Hulk was kind of a mess in the Norton film. Also, Hawkeye was very clearly a last minute addition to Thor.

But the Norton film came out before the overall MCU plan was put in place didn't it? I haven't even seen it.

The Hawkeye - I guess it seems like a last minute decision. I did kind of wonder why he was there. Was he just a normal SHIELD agent at that point?

I think my favorite part of IW was Nedavilir. Although it took some of the mystique away from Thor's hammer.

Post credits scene of the first Iron Man had Nick Fury talking about the Avengers, and post credit scene of Norton's Hulk had Tony Stark in it. So they at least had an idea of where they were going, but it may not have been too fleshed out.

I agree with how characters were added, excluding the intorduction of Scarlet Witch. That character (and Quicksilver) were clearly added to AoU after the original script was written and clearly muttled an already convoluted script. No idea where they would better fit it for introductions, but AoU sure wasn't it.

The the timing of all of the releases, genius as well.

Ant Man was probably one of the lowest grossing MCU movies. They're releasing a sequel that a lot of people will go see, but it won't draw Black Panther size crowds. However, after Infinity War, people are going to go see it now just to see if it takes place before, during, or after the finger snap.

The first Ant-Man movie was one of my favorites in the MCU so far. Very excited for the new one.

Yes, but the new Ant Man, as well as Spider Man, are coming out before the "reset."

Some folks on Letitia Wright's timeline were speculating about whether or not Shuri takes up the mantle of Black Panther while T'Challa's, um, dusty. This would be true to the comics at least in fact although not this storyline as I understand it

^^not true for Spider-Man, they’ve said that it takes place directly after avengers 4 and sets the direction for where the next phase of marvel movies will go

I’ve watched it twice. After the first time I was quite disappointed, and I wanted to watch it again with tempered expectations and just trying to enjoy what I knew going to happen...and I did, but still can’t say it was that great. Compared to a lot of shit out there, it was quite good, but If I look at it compared to the best of the marvel films (civil War, Avengers,Winter Soldier) this just doesnt even begin to compare. It’s a perfectly adequate, middle of the road marvel movie, but that’s all

There is more emotion in that Spiderman Tony stark scene than any other marvel movie.

This movie rocked.

I rewatched the end of Civil War last week from when Tony finds out Bucky killed his mom, I felt that whole ending was so much better (acting, CGI, fight choreography) and more emotional than anything in IW

Infinity War is not a movie; its a 2h 40m set of loosely connected stories tying previous characters and events together in preparation for what I hope will be a fully-fleshed out movie (IW2).

In that context, I enjoyed it.

Just watched it again after picking up the BR. I still have one question that has bothered me through all of the world-ending events in the MCU. I get that the Avengers are stronger than anything on Earth. But come on, the US military, the Chinese military, the Russian military....all of that power combined could have helped.

One could hem and haw that these countries just didn't have time to coordinate an attack, but come on, someone could have made an appearance. The US obviously knew about the threat when Rhodes was talking to the SoS.

USA did have SHIELD for a number of years, which was a fast acting military strike force specifically in place to deal with threats like this. I guess after Hydra infiltrated/dismantled them (and MCU's complete lack of inclusion with the Agents of SHIELD TV show), there wasn't really a replacement. You'd think other countries would have some sort of SHIELD like group too, especially after the events of the first Avengers and Civil War. That many military forces descending on Wakanda at the same time on such short notice would be a planning nightmare though.

Yea i mean I'm OK suspending disbelief bc with military involvement it turns from a super hero movie to a movie focused on nuclear weapons. Cuz after events of first avengers they def would have at least tried to nuke the army outside of wakanda

I don't get why people hem and haw about Winter soldier being so great. I thought it kinda sucked, and that might have to do with how lame Caps relationship with Bucky is. Plus the actor who plays Bucky is 1 dimensional as fuck.

Infinity Wars was amaze

I've never seen him in any other roles, but outside of the WW2 Bucky (before he became Winter Soldier), isn't his character kinda supposed to be one dimensional? He's been fighting his brainwashing almost the entire time he's been in the present day. It's been drilled into him that he is a living weapon meant only to follow orders and otherwise shut up and do nothing.
