if you are towards 85 you'll probably see accumulation in grass and other surface, roads are fine though

Pretty long cold streak starting today. The weather apps keep tugging at my heart strings. Saying snow (in near future) one day, dry the next.

^ probably because the global long range models have been saying no precip and it's been only the short range models. The globals have just now started to shift towards the short range. Expect the local mets to start bringing up the possibilities tonight

Ole Fishel is still standing by his dusting for Wake county forecast. Have an eerie feeling that its going to backfire on him. Some of the NAM models I see people posting on facebook are showing 7+ inches...

I haven't seen 7" for Raleigh yet but have seen some 5" totals.

Problem is people are posting the outlier models because they're more exciting. I've seen models with the coast getting over a foot of snow. NWS, and the Fish, appear to be trusting Euro more as well.

Think Fish is just skiddish. You call for 2-4" and get a dusting and people get mad. You call for a dusting and get more, people aren't as angry. Just has to hope it's not a crippling storm that people aren't under-prepaded for.
