Anybody else watch it last night?
I guess all episodes are available, I'm not sure how Hulu does their episodes. I'm digging the pilot. Seems interesting. I never watched Twin Peaks, so I don't know if the two would be similar, but so far I like the first episode. 7/26/2018 10:06:17 AM |

I think they are following the same model they used for Handmaids, episodes 1-3 all released at once, then 1 every Wednesday after that.
I haven’t watched yet, but plan on it soon, maybe this weekend. 7/26/2018 12:37:25 PM |

I watched all 3 as well. I wouldn’t say I love it yet, but I’m enjoying it, plus it seemed really well acted and made. 7/30/2018 11:39:39 AM |

First 3 episodes were solid.
Honestly not sure what I like more, the acting or random nods to other King novels scattered about. Definitely smiled when the widow on Death Row's husband was Eyeball Chambers haha. 8/3/2018 9:35:59 AM |

I really do enjoy this show but had an epiphany the other day. The show has so many twists, turns, flashbacks, and mysteries that it reminds me of LOST. My main concern is that as the seasons progress we'll end up with a mess of mysteries and not get closure anywhere.
I'd feel a lot more comfortable if it were a set number of seasons, which would indicate a clearly defined arc. 9/4/2018 11:08:47 AM |

yeah I'm not sure what to think about the ending. was the basic gist that there are multiple dimensions and that evil Henry came from another dimension than the current time through the schisma or whatever, maybe via lessons with his dad, and that in that dimension, the mom had been killed by the dad for infidelity and Molly had also died (forget how/why), meanwhile the warden intercepts him and realizes he's some sort of anomaly (doesn't age, etc.) and locks him up, turning him evil, and then he ends up doing whatever he can to try to get back to the schisma and get back to his home reality? Is he intentionally evil, or is it part of a disruption of the natural timeline that he's there? The whole demon flash seemed really out of place and was put there to confirm that he is, in fact, evil, to the audience? Also, how does good Henry get him from the woods, into what would be at that time a working prison? Assuming it shuts down after the warden is run over as a last straw type of thing, it wouldn't happen the same day. 9/17/2018 10:56:46 AM |

The basic gist is that there are parallel timelines where things play out differently, even if only slightly. Also time isn't necessarily linear since the 1600/1700s were taking place at the same time as this story line.
White Henry didn't come from the other timeline through lessons with his dad, we came in because he followed Black Henry and got trapped. WH's mom wasn't killed in the other timeline, she moved away with Alan and White Henry.
The warden finds him because he heard a voice that WH was the cause and over time realizes that WH doesn't age, which only reaffirmed his position.
I'm not sure about the demon flash. That made it seem to me that maybe WH's story isn't truthful but I believe that's part of the mystery to unpack in season 2.
The prison was shut down prior to the warden's suicide. The shutdown is in part what preempted her suicide. I assume pointing the gun at WH was enough to prompt WH to go along with BH and that BH took WH to the prison cage since he knew no one was there and the cage had worked in the past. 9/25/2018 9:45:09 AM |

I would have felt better about this show if they had not done that flash in the woods with WH. It would have been believable, within the rules set for this universe, that having WH out of place in BH's dimension would have upset some kind of balance, causing everything to go wrong. I'm not sure if WH is evil, but I think bad things follow him, and just seem to work out to his advantage. But of course that stupid flash puts all of this into question.
If next season takes place at the Overlook, that will be interesting. And I don't think the flash will be answered in any subsequent seasons, as I've heard this show is going to be an anthology series similar to American Horror Story. 9/25/2018 10:13:24 AM |

I'm less excited about this than season one. I felt like the first season didn't extend on a specific story or, more importantly, an existing character. it linked together a lot of lore and history from other stories, which made it relatable but not directly comparative.
For me, it'd be hard to view the Misery backstory in a contemporary time, when it was actually set 30 years ago. 9/17/2019 10:02:07 AM |

Hell, Castle Rock for me doesn't even need to take place in Castle Rock....Derry would be another great setting for a story not directly related to one of the novels. Castle Rock could just be a name of a series dealing with stories set in Maine. 9/17/2019 12:54:59 PM |

agreed but i'm sure it won't that way. we'll be 9 seasons in and curious why we haven't seen any character overlap from other seasons even though the town is only 1000 people or so. 9/18/2019 8:41:23 AM |
