We got whooped but I told myself going into this game I wouldn't really read much into the outcome. There were some encouraging things even in a blowout, "dare Christian McCaffrey to beat you" won't work on nights where our defense gets off the bus.

So this season in the Thursday games the record for the home team is 8-2 through 10 games. If you take out Week 1 which is beginning of season its still 7-2.

The only 2 road team wins were the Broncos over a terrible Arizona and the Eagles over the terrible Giants.

Their were only 3 of the 10 7 points or less wins as well. Thursday are just terrible football games even though the matchups have featured teams with better records this year.

That said the Panthers D must have stayed in Charlotte. Pittsburgh also showed that our patchwork O-Line can't pick up the blitz as Cam had no time almost all night. Not every team will have the personnel to do that but its would concern me if I was Norv Turner.

Our offensive line, especially the left side, has been shit all season and Norv knows it. Our entire scheme has been based around creating favorable matchups in the box by moving versatile playmakers like McCaffrey and Moore around before the snap. Well, the Steelers pass rushers basically ignored them and stayed home, knowing that up 24-7 at that point and our defense nowhere in sight, dump offs and check downs weren't gonna help us.

Our schedule actually broke quite favorably from this point on. Saints are the only team above .500 left. Granted, we have the Seahawks, Bucs and Falcons which are all rivalry games that could go either way, but nothing has been lost thus far. Take care of business and we should be at worst a 5 seed.
