I liked the trailer overall, and I think it makes the movie look good, but as a trailer it's a little dull. Should have used a 90s song like Sabatoge, Hey Man Nice Shot, Head Like a Hole, or More Human than Human instead of just generic orchestral trailer music.

I hope we get to see some kids in the background playing with slap bracelets while wearing purple and yellow Guess jeans.

Very "meh" on this so far. Nothing about this trailer would earn it a second look if you did not know it was part of the MCU. Brie Larson's dialog also felt a bit stiff in a few places - this is the first trailer!

At least its not Venom levels of terrible.

Good trailer

Looks like they are threading her entire life through to events in movie to give it more emotional weight. Similar to Guardians of the Galaxy 1 end scene with His mom.

Love it when they did that.

RANDOM RANT:

THE END OF ROGUE ONE SHOULD HAVE HAD SCENE OF HER AS A GIRL RUNNING TO HER DAD HUGGING HIS LEG AND OR BEING PICKED UP AS THE FINAL EXPLOSION IS COMING TO REALLY MAKE THAT DEATH SCENE POP!

THIS IS WHAT I THINK THEY ARE DOING HERE. KKTHXUAWWESOME

I keep saying this, but I think we're starting to see some superhero fatigue.

10 years of constant Marvel movies, and now DC...just too much.

I'm already burned out on superhero tv shows. I've stopped watching all of the CW shows, haven't caught up on season 2 of Luke Cage or Iron Fist. Still haven't seen Black Panther.

No one is really doing anything new with the genre

^^ Who is "we"?

This trailer has over 800 thousand youtube likes in the day and a half it's been out.

This is significantly higher than the lifetime likes of any marvel movie trailer besides Infinity War.

Fatigue only happens when the movies are bad.

What else would I be arguing? I was talking about "superhero fatigue" which I assume is talking about the general audiences getting tired of superhero movies.

People who think they are too good for superhero flicks have always felt that way, so any time they talk about superhero fatigue it's just hoping that everyone else comes down with what they have always had.

Anyway, I bet this movie is above 80 in RT score too, so it's not just gonna be the "unwashed masses" who think this is a decent movie.

So hard? I said earlier I think it's ok but that it's a dull trailer that should have used different music.

I have always loved superhero movies, so I may be in the minority but I am not feeling any fatigue whatsoever. Towards the Marvel movies that is.

Not really looking forward to Aquaman AKA Water Thor.

It's going to get the Black Panther treatment.

It will be a mediocre super hero movie good enough to sit through, but not good enough to warrant the inevitable undue media praise that will be forced on the audience because of feminism/womyn power/#metoo/etc.

Or it will be a total flop and will blame the patriarchy like Oceans 8.

^I don’t necessarily disagree with the sentiment of the first part. Although Black Panther did actually deserve recognition for the cultural significance it being made (being first huge budget blockbuster with black writer, director and predominantly black cast), the movie was just ok. From the trailers so far this looks...fine, but nothing special. But we’ve had Wonder Woman and other femal led action movies (just none from marvel), so I don’t know if this will be as over hyped

Look guys, Disney will be bringing home fistfulls of dollars simply due to its tie-in to Avengers 4. Yet another genius move by Fiege and his team. It will be a success, both in terms of boatloads of money and praise for a female Green Lantern.

^, ^^ I have zero doubt that it will be a huge financial success, I’m just wondering if it will actually be a great movie, or a middle of the road marvel flick, which is usually still decent, but holds little rewatch value.

I know nothing of the Captain Marvel character, but is she supposed to be that "wooden" or is Brie Larson just shit?

She’s always come off as kinda meh in her other films IMO. If the goal is for her to be the anchor character in the next wave of the MCU, like RDJ was to the last wave, I’m not sure she can pull that off. We will see. In general, the best Marvel characters on-screen, even the more stoic ones like Cap and Thor, could balance drama / action with some some witty dialogue and well-times jokes. Hopefully, they take her character more in that direction and less like DCEU has done with several of their characters as of late. But Marvel definitely knows what they are doing so I’m sure it will work out.

I give it a big fat “Meh”

Pretty disappointing, definitely in the bottom tier of marvel movies. I thought it was pretty boring, and what little action there is was poorly done. The humor was the one bright spot

Yeah I concur with “Meh”

3/5, Sam L was fantastic, they should have just made a Nick Fury origin movie

Spoiler:

No. Lee was practicing his lines for a part in a film that is set in the View Askewniverse. That's like saying real life is set in the View Askewniverse. Don't be simple.

Anyway, that cameo has severe implications for the MCU along the lines of the diegetic use of "Sabotage" in the 2009 Star Trek.

Ok fine, but it definitely means Bluntman and Chronic exist within the MCU. I expect them to be in Avengers Endgame.

Did anyone actually like this movie?

All of the reviews I've seen/heard from friends has been "meh", "it's OK", and "a little slow". Read people talking about falling asleep during the movie on social media. Is it really that slow?

Was looking forward to seeing it but maybe now I'll just wait and catch it at Red Box.

I enjoyed it, but there was kind of a disconnect when it came down to the stakes of the movie. Knowing that this took place in the 90's and therefore that all the main players survive took away a sense of urgency or real consequence of the plot. The 'twist' if you could call it that was pretty well ruined early in the movie if you pay any kind of attention to previous movies and shows. That being said, I was still entertained, which is what I want out of a Marvel flick anyway. Plus the soundtrack was pretty awesome (hitting those nostalgia notes).

Most Marvel movies are kinda meh, right? But there are enough good ones and we are invested enough in the larger story that we keep going. They've been on a better streak the last few years w/ BP, IW and Ragnarok, but how many others are really good? First iron man, first guardians, civil war, maybe first avengers?

So like 6-8 out of 21? The rest are meh or, in some cases, actively bad.

Subjectivity and all but I've found almost all Marvel movies to be pretty good to very good, besides Thor 2 and Incredible Hulk.

In fact Hulk is the only one I wouldn't be willing to watch again. If I ever decided to do an MCU rewatch I'd watch Thor 2 but would skip Hulk.

Well you also thought Marvel was good so I probably wasn't deciding your tastes.

I personally would probably upgrade Marvel form Meh to semi rewatchable. If it's on tv, I might put it on and watch good chunks of it, but I wont seek it out. That's true for most of these though, for me.

Iron Man 2 is up there with Thor 2 in terms of being difficult to rewatch. I find myself liking the two Ant Man movies more than it seems that I'm supposed to.

Ive liked every marvel movie except original hulk and ant man 2. The rest have been great, imo. But im not like some that go to a movie to critique it. I just go to enjoy it.

As for this movie...the only people ive seen saying it was great are women or white knight social justice warriors trying to make some bigger connection than just the movie. I personally havent seen it yet
