Beat Tampa twice earlier in the week 4-1 and 6-1.

I think watching the Baby Braves succeed in baseball has me more optimistic that this group is going to turn the corner and surprise some folks.

That being said, goaltending is a serious concern. Cam would have been better last night than Mrazek. He was horrid.

A lot of the goals were practically open net due to defensive breakdowns. The last goal was an accident, he anticipated correctly.

That said I think Mrazek is out of position too much and it makes things extra chaotic when there's a puck anywhere in the dirty area.

Rod has this team playing hard and I absolutely love the pace. I think Rod's conditioning and effort requirement has been all the difference. Look at Jordan's start to the season. I am trying not to be too impressed but when was the last time you've seen a Canes team fight back so many times as they did last night AND WIN.

In a little rut at the moment, hopefully they can rebound against the Coyotes. They are still playing at an absolute blistering pace but seem to have defensive lapses at the absolute perfect time for the other team to beat us by a goal.

They have me semi-intrigued again, and I've actually bothered to watch a few games on TV for the first time in five years or so. There's a little too much "doubling up the opponent in shots yet still finding ways to lose" going on though. If they're still in the mix in 2019 I'll probably care more, but the majority of Raleigh isn't going to care about these dudes until they're in the playoffs again.
