The deal includes no opt-outs and a full no-trade clause, according to sources." |

I was already planning a trip to Denver for the series at the Rockies, and another trip to Philly later in the summer. This is just icing on the cake. Any fans still on this board?2/28/2019 3:18:29 PM |

yeah wasn't exactly the contract I was hoping for, but it'll be exciting for a while. we kept Ryan Howard on for 13 years ($25m/yr. for the last 3). Harper is a bit older, though. 2/28/2019 3:52:34 PM |

L.O. freakin' L. I love seeing the Phillies screw themselves.
Ask the Rangers how grateful they were to be able to trade A-Rod to the Yankees and get out of that shit. 2/28/2019 6:07:57 PM |

I can't wait to listen to David Glenn ramble on about his beloved Phillies and how this makes sense to him and the lovely and talented Maria, you know he was once a lawyer and doesn't charge a thousand dollars an hour for his opinion on this, but the new filet mignon special at Sullivan's steakhouse is faaaaantastic, especially when listening during the most popular radio platform, free for all Friday 2/28/2019 8:37:02 PM |

The Phillies will always have a place in my heart, since I lived in Philadelphia for four years and went to a few games. Glad they got one of the game’s best, but 13 years is way too long. I don’t think anyone should get a 10 year plus contract in sports. Too much can happen in that long of a time frame. Oh well I hope it works out and they win a lot of games. GO PHILLIES!!!

Would be a good team-friendly contract in other sports like the NFL and NBA that continue to get bigger TV money and therefore the salary cap continues to increase. Not sure about beisbol though. 3/1/2019 12:09:21 AM |

I'd love to live in Philly for a few years. It's sports heaven, especially if you're a fan of their teams already.
I'm visiting Denver in April where the Phillies are playing a four game stretch at the Rockies, so it'll be cool to see them at Coors Field. Also going to Philly/CBP later in the summer with my cousins, and potentially Washington when we're playing there, so I should be able to see a few games this year.3/1/2019 9:07:57 AM |

Harper just crushed that shit. And now the Braves pitcher got ejected.

supposedly in the hunt, along with Keuchel.
still pretty early to judge the guys we have, though. I mean, Nola allowed 6 runs and I don't think we doubt he can pitch, so I wouldn't go into panic mode. 4/5/2019 11:07:13 AM |

Went to Saturday and Sunday games at Coors Field. Glad I got to see a win Saturday night, but they had our number the entire series. I was surprised at how rude Rockies fans were - I had read they were generally really laid back. Didn't provoke them at all but had shit talked to me, and even sunflower/peanut shells thrown at me until we took the lead. It was all older people, too. Once Harper hit that 3 run homer they all left.

seem to be really struggling without McCutchen. pleased with Kingery. need to make some moves to acquire more consistent pitching, though I'm not sure we're going to be in a big buying mode by the all-star break. I'm still hopeful we'll find our way into the playoffs. 6/21/2019 2:13:35 PM |
