And yeah, losing the guy who's probably now the 4th string (Markell, Beverly, Seabron) pg isn't really a demoralizing loss.

As of now, the Markell stuff is pretty much message board speculation. Nothing from an official/credible place is saying it. But Keatts was definitely mum on exactly who was injured.

Why did we recruit Seabron if he's ineligible? It's not like he was a big-time get for us? What a waste of a Scholarship for a year. That's on Keatts.

im fine with seabron eating a RS, thats not the worst use of a scholarship. 100-150 ranked recruit, an extra year in a college program under him, lessened chance of early transfer, all fine.

there are only so many atticus taylors and danny dixons you need as squad depth. the blake harris scholly was really the one that was truly wasted. all the issues with him from the turnovers to the flakiness were known at the time we brought him on

haven't been to a canes game or state game since the new scoreboard was put in. maybe the new scoreboard impacts the 3d projection?

They still do the projector for Canes games, so the new scoreboard isn't an issue, fwiw

The new scoreboard is so huge and so BRIGHT that it's been making it difficult for the projector system to be highly visible. I'm sure they'll keep testing/calibrating/adjusting and figure out how to make it better.

Ok, back to this season discussion. I feel like we would be a good team if we had another solid point guard. This is not a knock on Beverly, I feel like he is a hard worker and doing everything in his ability. However, to be competitive in the ACC in Keatts system we need it badly. Just think of Keatts first year he had Freeman and Markell, and was able to overachieve. What happened in year 2? We took a slight step backwards. I feel like year 3 we can still have a solid year, but my only concern is when Markell is banged up or is tired, we're going to be vulnerable on both the offensive and defensive ends. If the team is shooting lights out we'll always be in games, but sooner or later we need to get easy percentage shots and also need to be ale to get stops.

Markell is gonna be playing 35 mins/game as long as he’s healthy or not in foul troubel...so there won’t be many minutes without him on the court. But yeah - moving Braxton ago PG handcuffs us. And it takes Beverly away from being a shooter.

^ While we're at it Keatts recruiting at the guard position has been severely underwhelming. Markell wasn't even his recruit and Daniels is Freeman-lite. I feel like the guard squad he had his last season at UNCW is better. For a system that relies so heavily on the 3 point shot you need some sharp hooters and solid ball handlers.

Markell has been off. Not sure if he’s pressing too much or what. But he hasn’t been good. Andree was good. FIU hit some tough shots.

I think our D and rebounding is better with Bates in, but Funderburk may be rusty as well...he didn’t look too good to me

We got down by 10. Went on a big run and got up 7 I think. And then they came back at the end.
