Don't give a shit about naked ladies. I'll entertain anything else.

Except naked dudes.

My first time in Vegas was at my bachelor party a few months ago....

-If you are into gambling, the strip has everything. But you'll find lower$$ buy ins at Freemont St (old Vegas)

-everyone on the street that comes up to you wants your $$. Be aware

-if you are a clean looking guy, with clean looking friends in a strip bar, the girls will be willing to come back till your room after their shift to party.

-set a limit and stick to it. For everything.

-for everything from cabs to table service, if you play nice and make conversation, people will be willing to give you a hook up

-it is worth spending money on a nice hotel. A nice hotel has everything inside. It's pretty much like a shopping mall. And everyone wants to come and hang out at a nice place. having said that no one wants to stay inside in Vegas they all want to be outside having fun.

-if you plan on drinking, use oxygen bars. They are a lifesaver.

-beer and liquor farts are the worst.

I stayed at the cosmopolitan when I was there for a conference a few months back. I don't gamble much so I set a pretty low limit and really just slooow played slot machines and got free drinks as long as I wanted.

Go see a show while you're there. The Cosmo has a concert venue (The Chelsea) inside of it and the Revivalists played while I was there. I only knew one of their songs prior to the show but they were great live. Anyways, it's a cool venue.

Obviously watch the Bellagio fountain show and eat good food at the endless amount of restaurants (or In n Out Burger).

I was there for 5 days, don't like gambling and wouldn't touch an escort, but I had a great time. If you are into gambling or escorts then you'll get your fill there

This. I went on my first ever trip to Vegas and I went again 2 weeks ago. This time we did a Comedy on Deck tour https://www.comedybustours.com/home.html, which gives you a bit more info, is hosted by a comedian, and includes lunch. Groupon had 2 tix for $100. The comedian was keeping it clean, because a youngin was present, but we eventually got a little rowdy. Totally worth the cash.

also, my wife insists on walking, so I probably walked 15 miles while i was there, but invest in monorail tix if you hate walking. Buy directly from website https://www.lvmonorail.com/, they had a special running when i was in Vegas for $36 5 day unlimited rides.

I LOVE the High roller. https://www.caesars.com/linq/high-roller They do a "Happy Half-Hour", where the pod is an open bar for one rotation. I was able to get 4 strong drinks plus a roadie, AND an amazing view of the strip and the desert and the mountains. Highly recommend.

Learn all the gambling at https://wizardofodds.com/

BIGGEST ADVICE

PLAN. If you really want to do something, plan it and stick to it. Vegas has a power to make all plans fly out the window. We only checked about half our boxes on this last trip, because i mean duh gambling.

finally, everything EMCE said, with a focus on the fact that EVERYONE that comes up to you, on the street or on the casino floor, wants your money. Wyndham people were AWFUL this time in every one of caesars properties.

BettrOffDead gave really good advice especially the one about planning and people wanting your money.

Standard tip for cocktail waitress is $1 for the “free” drinks, they take chips.

If you’ve got a couple hours, the neon museum is kind of cool and pretty short. I went in the daytime I imagine a night tour is a bit cooler to see. https://www.neonmuseum.org

Buffets can sound like a good idea but in my opinion they’re a waste unless you just want to try a lot of different food. The strip ones are typically all pretty decent. Lines can get long for them so plan accordingly.

Red rock canyon is about a 30 minute drive from the strip and a nice place to do some outdoors stuff if you want. Last time I was there I rented a car, drove to red rock canyon in the morning then went to the Hoover dam in the afternoon.

Know basic strategy from wizardofodds, it can save you a decent amount of money from gambling “poorly”.

If you are worried about escorts because of STDs, then just bring a strap-on and ask them to do that. They will more than likely give you a discount.

If you play craps, bet 6 and 8.

A good number of casinos have classes on how to play the various table games. They're usually pretty early in the morning. Ubers along the strip will run between 8 and 16 bucks depending on distance. Park MGM is cool and Eataly is a neat italian market.

This article says it, but we didnt realize reservations must be made up to 2 months in advance. Phone number for reservations is in article. If it's something you'd be interested in, book early.

It's complicated.

In theory, I have no problems with prostitution as a legal practice. Women that are born with talents that can earn them money should be able to profit from that in the same way that athletes or models do, for example.

Men that just want to go out and have sex without having to date somebody or be in a relationship/married, and are willing to pay for it, should be free to do that.

The problem is that in practice, legal prostitution almost always results in sex trafficking. Prostitution is legal in Germany and pretty much all over Europe, but the girls that end up working in this system are not there on their own free will. They are typically brought in from a place like Ukraine or Russia with promises of doing something different to get a visa, and then they get forced into prostitution.

So, those are my thoughts on it.

Just to be clear, my thoughts line up pretty much the same as far as the things you mentioned. I just...couldn't bring myself to hire an escort. I *guess* I understand the appeal on superficial level, but eh. But different strokes for different folks.

I will happily gamble away all my money like a complete fucking moron, though. So there's that.

Been to Vegas an embarrassing number of times (have family who live there 10 mins from the strip), but each time has been a different experience. For a newb, try not to make it obvious it's your first time, because people in that town are on the constant lookout for easy targets. These days, I'm good with about a 2 night MAX stay, but that's because I don't gamble and I can't stand being there sober. Without repeating what others have already said:

Don't try and hail a cab from anywhere on The Strip aside from the taxi line. By law, they're not allowed to pick anyone up or drop anyone off.

Everybody expects a tip. Everybody.

If you end up going to a night club/trendy bar ALWAYS ask how much a beer/cocktail costs BEFORE you order it (or they start to make it), or you may end up paying outrageous prices. If you refuse to pay, you may also get kicked out.The most expensive margarita I ever ordered was at Wet Republic and it was $80 in a lame souvenir cup. $20 bud lights happen too if you're not careful.

If you just want to get drunk for cheap, play the penny slots as long as there's an active cocktail waitress. Otherwise, go ahead and bring your own booze in your checked bag. If you've got wheels, head to the Henderson Walmart and buy all of your shit off the strip. If that's too much work, hit up a Fat Tuesday's, get the 180 Octane with an extra shot of everclear and you should be pretty ripped for a while.

Valley of Fire is a better day trip than Red Rocks imo, but if you want an even better day trip, go to either Death Valley or Zion. Hoover Dam is alright, but it's nothing life-changing.

Buffets get better the more you pay, but only up to a certain point. The Aria, Wynn, and Bellagio have good dinner buffets, but I actually think the Mandalay Bay lunch buffet is the sweet spot for price/quality.

If you like good food, the celebrity restaurants are truly hit/miss. It usually comes down to service, but in November it may not be as busy, so your odds of 'hitting' might be better. TBH, some of the best food is a 10-15 minute drive OFF the strip in some strip mall. Yelp reviews are fairly accurate.

Have fun.

^+1 Valley of Fire is better than Red Rock if you're not hiking for hours. But OMG the sand, it's like baby powder. In/on everything - definitely bring extra shoes/clothes.

I did the "drive a supercar" at the racetrack. I had friends, we had side bets (top speed, best lap, etc.), it was 10/10 fun, HIGHLY recommended

note: if there is a car you like that has a lower horsepower option take that. They have a little button that tunes the engine on-the-fly. They don't just turn you loose, you have to behave a lap or two to get it opened up. I doubt many people are clean enough to get it opened up because they're smiling 2-ft wide.

... but then again I'm a bit of a hick and daily driving a car like that feels pretty firmly outside my price point. To me that was way more Vegas than gambling or strippers. For a few minutes I got to live like someone else.

Seriously enjoyed the national parks. Death Valley, Red Rock, and Joshua Tree are utterly stunning. I wish I would have spent more time taking photos in all of them. True highlight of the trip for me. If a member of your party is a veteran or has a disability you can get a national park pass in advance good for all of them and save some coin.

Grand Canyon is easily reachable in a rental car, but I would spent the night for best results. Sunset/rise at the canyon rim is epic. For me, better than either ocean.

Last note: Lake Mead is a very easy drive, and they have very cheap boats for rent. 20ft party barge (with a miserably underpowered engine) was about $150 for half day. If I was doing it again I'd do the whole day and make it to the beach and the dam, and I would definitely squish onto the runabout for something that doesn't feel like you're puttering at full throttle.

So what if I take a quick flight over to Denver. What are the odds I can get in on a relaxing guided psilocybin experience on the off chance that it might actually help my depression/general state of mind. How the shit would I go about finding such a resource?

Yep, still in the Vegas thread.

Rebecca Love is one of my favorite Skinemax Softcore stars (from when i had Cinemax )

She hosts a karaoke night.

https://www.meetup.com/karaokexxx/

It looks like its intended as networking for industry people, but maybe random tourists can go?

I didnt dig too far into it because there was no event during my trip.

I just fucking love karaoke and titties.

I used to really love vegas- endless drinking and gambling appealed to me in my younger 20's. But honestly now I see no reason to go to vegas other than to say that you went. The last time I went to a Casino I walked out immediately because it just wasn't my scene.

There are other things you can do there, but the entire scene certainly revolves around gambling. If that isn't your thing, I'd just find the pool and post up.

Hoover dam is cool to see.

Tip the waitress 5-10$, and I promise she will come back much faster.

Make sure you drink plenty of water.
