The show so far has main quest, side quests, cut scenes, and people who you go back to who tell you to go to a new area to explore to expand your map. I feel like this was definitely a video game at one point. 11/23/2019 3:26:51 PM |

It's a truly great series, and I think anyone who is at all interested in comics as a storytelling medium should read it. At 28 volumes, though, that could be a lot of money and even more time. Getting the first 15 on Unlimited is awesome.11/25/2019 7:46:53 AM |

yes, lol at the speeders. i thought the same thing.
also i figured the the little fobs tracked DNA, but that also has issues. like it wouldn't differentiate between identical twins or clones. so if your twin brother decided to become a notorious criminal, you are absolutely fucked. 11/29/2019 11:22:48 PM |

In theory, this is plausible. When dogs track somebody, they are not following footprints but going off of residual DNA left in the air and your surroundings. Getting on a bike won't help you, but getting in a car or a bus would.11/30/2019 12:32:01 PM |

Pretty sure dogs aren't tracking DNA 11/30/2019 12:34:11 PM |
BanjoMan All American 9609 Posts user info edit post |
You could generalize it down to that. Obviously, they are tracking the residual scent off of particles that you would leave on the run, like parts of your skin from touching a fence, or maybe a particular component of your sweat trail that is left in the air behind you, or hair follicles. Things that are very small but do have DNA in them. It is indeed the "smell" that they are following, but they are following particles that would have your DNA in it. 11/30/2019 12:57:19 PM |

There is no DNA in sweat 11/30/2019 12:58:51 PM |
BanjoMan All American 9609 Posts user info edit post |
it is still a biological sample that, when somebody is on the run, is more than likely gonna have some sort of biology in it, whether that be blood or urine, or whatever.
Again, dogs of course aren't trained to track DNA, because they track scent. However, the accuracy and detection limits of trained dogs are extraordinary. They are literally picking up on biological material from the air or surroundings that you shed off on the run.
Comparing a bloodhound to a DNA tracker is not that much of a stretch, in my opinion, because the items that a dog tracks will more than likely have DNA in it that a DNA tracker would pick up on. 11/30/2019 1:09:04 PM |

They have a limited range. They have to use traditional methods to know approximately where a target is then the homing devices can work.11/30/2019 8:39:53 PM |

They aren't tracking midichlorians -- it looks like these tracking devices are used to track all sorts of targets. Little green dude is the only one we know of that is strong in the force.
Quote : | "Why didn't anyone use the technology to find princess Leia or obi wan kenobe or Luke Skywalker or anyone else who was hiding?" |
I'm thinking that there is some kind of physical technology that is being tracked. Maybe the kid was originally held captive and was somehow rescued/sold off to the guys that the Mandalorian took him from. Before being rescued, he could have been implanted with the tracking device somewhere sensitive like in his brain? That would require some precise technology to remove, something that a small isolated rural planet like that wouldn't have. That would also explain why Leia or Luke didn't have a tracker on them in the first place.
Sidenote: The Mandalorian mentioned that there was no technology on the planet that could take down an AT-ST. Yet the woman soldier he teamed up with was a veteran of the Battle of Endor and literally would have seen multiple AT-STs be taken down by a tribe of Ewoks with a bunch of tree trunks. And those AT-STs would have been operated by trained imperial soldiers and in pretty good condition, instead of being driven by raiders who managed to likely steal one and keep it in a swamp for the past 15 yrs.12/1/2019 8:30:56 PM |
