I'm not trying to single out the last poster because its very typical and has been since I've been going. Gates open at 10:30. Plenty of entertainment on the field from 1hr before kickoff. No reason to wait to go just 30 minutes before kickoff. Stands should already be full by then. Do you really have to be borderline drunk to enjoy the game? Theres just a big difference between serious sports fans and typical state fans and it bugs the shit out of me.

Couldn’t have asked for much from McKay in game 1. Jordan Houston was impressive. Hines was impressive. D stepped up after that first drive, pass coverage and secondary were solid. It’s early, but there’s a lot of stuff to optimistic about.

horosho - the seating was actually pretty full for most of the game until the 4th quarter, when you would expect people to leave in that big of a blowout. The only sections that were pretty empty right after half time were the student section, which makes sense because college students can't afford to get drunk on $9 beer

HOOPS SHALOM - the last real one is Ball State 3 weeks from now. We've got Western Carolina too next week

Not sure if I should put this here or continue in the conversation in the McKay heisman watch thread but since I'm here, McKay had a pretty respectable game. 25/37 and 308 is pretty solid honestly. It's about (not exactly, but close to) the rate and yardage per game Finley was getting after starting here for 3 years. I'll take that for his first full college game

I have no need for anyone's, including DD's, whining about attendance when they can't get people into the game efficiently, can't run concessions properly, and can't manage traffic. Figure those out and we'll move onto the bigger issues, like being the TV scheduler's cuck, opponent selection, etc.

You are like the traveler who arrives at the airport 30 minutes before your flight and blames it on TSA. If you show up to the game 1800 seconds before kickoff and expect to get in on time, you are asking them to be able to get more than 30 people through the gates per second. Your expectations for concession are probably just as ridiculous. Anyone going later than 90 minutes before kickoff should not expect to have a good experience.

In fact, the one thing they could do to incentivize early arrival would be moving to first come first serve general admission for all student seats as well as the entire upper deck and oversell the shit out of it.

then close the gates when these areas are full and do one in one out for all the people who can't survive 3 hours without a 6 pack.
