Also we're playing 5 dbs against a team that routinely plays 3+ TEs

Yep 3-3-5 can’t stop the run especially against a team great at running

I guess I should be happy that I can’t see this game where I am based on the score.

I guess the FSU game was the last time we had a TD on a non-trick play? Man this O is laughable.

Look at that immobile McKay

[Edited on October 19, 2019 at 1:57 PM. Reason : I wonder why they aren't playing the more mobile Hockman in the redzone]

Maybe we need 2 or 3 more offensive coordinators.

I stepped out and missed it. But 3rd and 2 from the 2 and we run 2 pass plays? I know the run game hasn’t been good but damn...

Just imagine if we could actually score in the red zone and Hockman hadnt gifted them 7 points

we needed to kick field goals. 24-9 would be a close game.

Lol no we don’t need to be kicking FGs. Play calling is questionable, execution is questionable. But going for it was the right call both times.

As far as Hux...the 3-3-5 is mostly the new guy, Tony Gibson right?

3-3-5 is good against spread/air raid teams. 3-3-5 is terrible against teams that play 2+ tight ends the entire game.

We have many issues on both sides of the ball. But we’re especially bad on offense in short yardage situations. And that is magnified in the red zone.

so if you know you are bad in the redzone, why not take the sure points and stay in the game? all of the momentum is lost when you come away with nothing. halfway through the game you just need points. Its not like it was late in the game.

Because FGs are 3 points and TDs are 7. And we need TDs. And we’re talking about 2 yards. You need to be able to pick up 2 yards. If you can’t, you won’t win the game regardless of kicking FGs

Going for it really isnt that bad. We're one of the worst RZ teams in the nation and we're now at 10 points going for it (the FG is from a failed conversion -> BC punt) vs 12 if we had just kicked FGs

Go for it and get a TD 1/3 times, and it’s a 3 possession game (31-10 like it is now). Kick a fg every time and it’s 31-12, still a 3 Td game.

Don’t really like the McKay in the red zone package...but maybe it’ll work out in the future. Seems odd.

I admit that I couldn’t watch the game, but was following it on the ESPN app. We just got embarrassed by the same team that got embarrassed by Kansas.

I was really hoping we’d win this one not just because I don’t like BC, but also because my hopes of getting to a bowl would have gone up. GT might be the last win on the schedule and watch us screw that one up somehow.

I don't hate it. Especially when the running game had been completely nonexistent. He's shown he isn't going to turn it over, so you give him an RPO and let him throw it if a guy is wide open, otherwise take what he can get on the ground.

I guess some people on here would rather put Hockman in down there, since he's "more mobile"

I mean BC was running 8 guys out every play at 250+ pounds. I don't care how many defenders you put in the box when most of them are giving up 40+ to the guys blocking

Didn't see the game, but saw that Leary threw 3 TD and no picks, but was only 15/33. Were there a lot of WR drops? Or was he just inaccurate, despite not turning the ball over?

Both. Emezie has been bad all year and had a few drops, but mostly inaccuracy. And two (three??) of those tds came when the game was already decided

There were a couple bad drops, Emezie in particular if I remember correctly. Leary threw a few passes away, and we he took more chances deep which is a lower % attempt, obviously. I’m not saying Leary looked like Aaron Rodgers and was perfectly accurate or anything but I think he looked better than his <50% completion would indicate.

That’s fair, and we saw some of that similar style with McLendon a couple years ago. What I didn’t like was immediately subbing McKay in after Leary completed a long pass to get us in the red zone. Seems like that throws the rhythm off, potentially. But in general I don’t mind trying something different in those red zone situations. I guess it was the timing that seemed most odd to me. But maybe that’s part of it - trying to throw the defense off

My biggest problem was taking McKay back out when it's like 3rd and goal from say the 2. If you're gonna bring him in, leave him in. Don't sub Leary back in on 3rd or 4th and goal.
