The freshman recruiting class was supposed to be fantastic; we'll see vs. Anderson tomorrow night how good they really are, but I'm excited for it

Game against Anderson started off slow; going into the half the score was only 17-39.

Though our game inside the 3 point line was good, 3s were hard to come by. Didn't make our first 3 til there was only 3:20 left in the 2nd quarter. On the night we were 6-23, though, which isn't terrible, but not where we were last year.

Did a good job playing clean and not committing shooting fouls.

Team looked very young, but the new players are definitely stepping up. Jada Boyd led the team in points scored (and most of our 3s), Cunane was dominant as usual but didn't play much

Game against NCA&T went similary to the Anderson game, started off slow against a very scrappy full-court press team but slowly pulled away in the end.

I will say that the way our team struggled initially against the press was a little concerning; if NCA&T was a more talented team we easily could have had a much closer final score

This team plays the long game. Steady play in each of the first two quarters, build up a dominating lead in the 3rd that wears the other team out, match the other team's pace through the 4th.

Win over Wake was one of the sloppier games of the season. Our ladies couldn't buy a layup and that really hurt them for a lot of the game. Still pulled through the win, but it certainly wasn't pretty

Agreed! That Wake game last Sunday was one of our most sloppy games. We had no touch around the rim and couldn't even make layups. Also, it looked like our ladies weren't aggressive on loose balls or rebounds. Glad we got the win fortunately!

Loved seeing the Wake coach get mad over a traveling no-call and they T'd her up for throwing her water bottle at the scorer's table area.


Wolfpack Women beat Pitt on Thursday night 88-44. It was an 8 pt game at halftime and after some adjustments, they outscored the Panthers 30-4 in the 3rd quarter!!! Women are straight rollin'!!!!

Win at Duke was big - we were behind by 10 at one point in the 3rd quarter. Cunane started sloppy but still managed to score ~half our points. We seemed to struggle against full court press like we did NCA&T though, really had us in the first 2.5-3Qs of the game

Exactly the right things happened tonight for us to lose. We got up 6-1 and then Louisville went on a 17-2 run. We never got back within 5/6 after that, and usually stayed back about 10. Cunane got shut out by Shook, Konig looked like she was settling for shots, the rest of the team couldn't shoulder the load all night.

Our team has struggled against tough defenses all year, and Louisville's defense is fantastic. Keep you out of the paint and force you to take 3s or make a desperate lob inside where they'll pick it up. The fact we only lost by 7 to me is good because it shows that even if we didn't ever look "in" it most of the night, we still stayed close.

If we work on breaking through tough D's then when we see them again we should be able to pull through the win.
