The last two games we have beat two of the best in college baseball in Kopps and Beck. Combined 19-2 I think before taking Ls to the Pack. So I think the team is up to the challenge. Need Highfill to bring the same stuff he did in Fayetteville.

Tonight's game is the biggest game in NCSU history IMO.

The bad news:
The guy we are facing tonight could be the #1 overall draft pick and certainly the top drafted college pitcher if not player. So a better prospect than Kopps or Beck

The kinda good news:
He is 3-3 in his last 7 games. He can be hittable. He has only gone more than 7 innings once, 3 months ago when he pitched a no hitter against USC. So worst case scenario we keep it close and try to get to the bullpen.

The ok news:
He gets a lot of strikeouts. But many times strikeouts mean longer pitch counts. See above.

I think I'd rather face Vandy again than Stanford, since Vandy doesnt seem to have the superior offense. I'm not sure waht their pitching plan will be. Was thinking they would win wednesday with someone else, then have rocker and leiter for Friday/Saturday.

The two so far have felt completely like home games. I read an article that said the locals tend to pick a team to root for and this year it's us. The red shirts help, plus we beat Arkansas who beat them. Walking around the Old Market in my State gear just about everyone is saying go pack if they aren't wearing another team's logo.

From where would you fly? Raleigh is probably a lot but you should be able to get round trip from Charlotte for under $250 if that's driving distance for you.

In a blink of an eye we went from getting Stanford without their ace to Vandy with two mega aces. Even worse, Vandy's bats had been cold all tournament and tonight they started to wake up. Have to win against Rocker, I don't know if we can take another Leiter game.
