After 10 days of self-quarantining, I'm starting to grow weary of people who still want to argue that we should go back to normal and this is all hyped BS.

I keep reading people posting on FB arguing against science. Even the supreme leader (Trump) is on board, but they can't help themselves to just stay the fuck inside their homes. I'm at the point where I want to see these people die. If COVID-19 was only a threat to the people exposed, I'd encourage them to congregate. I have a cousin, just retired from 30+ year corp job and thinks she knows more than the collective medical/science community. She's posting pics of being at the beach down in Florida and how this all BS.

Now is the time where we need an active shooter to thin the herd. For all the people who want believe this is a hoax or knee jerk reaction, I'd love to watch some sniper pick off large crowds. These people deserve to die.

Ran into my neighbor at the mailbox and shot the shit about the virus. Conversation closed with him being like “hey man, if y’all need anything, we are pretty stocked up so we might be able to help.” And I left the convo thinking, wow this guy is taking it seriously.


They grilled out and had like 15 people/kids over the very next day.

All the neighborhood kids are still playing together, approximately 6 different families co-mingling, while our poor daughter just watches from down the street. I feel horrible, but if this is going to be a protracted thing, I want her to get used to being without her friends for a while.

^Yea my boys have been gaming online with their friends quite a bit, so that's taken the sting out of it. Honestly with them both being teens they hang out more online regularly anyways.

Our neighborhood is very small and there aren't any other kids really at my boys ages so we haven't had to worry about face to face interaction.

Our only next door neighbors chat over the fences a good bit but keep the recommended distances apart.

I had this convo with my dad (68 yrs old).

I was like, if it weren't for having loved ones in the most vulnerable demographic, I'd say let every catch it and the ones who die, die.

then we'd be fucking done in 2 weeks instead of the 2 months things are closing for.

or maybe we could just have the vulnerable people quarantine for 2 weeks while the rest of us go party and all catch it and get over it.

There is one individual on my facebook feed who keeps posting the same three things over and over:

1) The flu is worse (along with annual flu death statistics)

2) A doctor he "knows" says this is blown way out of proportion (this doctor is one of the leading voices in anti-vaxxing and has been shunned by the scientific community)

3) Any numbers about cases and deaths are fake news fear mongering meant to intentionally ruin the economy


And then ends by inviting anyone who refuses to give into fear over to his house for dinner.

My daughter and I have been doing a lot of bike riding. We usually end up at her school where she'll ride around the parking lot with a couple of other kids. As long as they stay on their bikes, I've found it a good way for her to get some exercise and socialize while maintaining social distancing.

If you and your wife are both working from home, you may want to consider finding another family to form a socialization group with.
