You keep saying you're not that concerned, seems you don't understand the point. The mask isn't for you it's for everyone else. You very easily could be sick and not know it. The chance may be very small, but you've already said wearing a mask is easy so just fucking do it. It's pretty easy to take a simple example of grocery store employees, they are frequently older and don't have the option to just stay home. Not wearing a mask is wildly disrespectful, if nothing else. You're basically saying "I care so little about your well being that I won't take this simple precaution".

I tried not to be too judgy, just a little bit, when I saw people in the grocery etc without masks. But effective this Friday, I anticipate being more judgmental about folks who still don't wear them into grocery stores and other settings with lots of people.

I went to eastern NC for a day trip on Sunday to visit family I hadn't seen in months on their farm. I figured it was pretty safe since it was an outdoor event. We stopped in Rocky Mount on the way as the Tar River was flooding. We drove around town and I shot some photographs. I don't think I saw anybody else wearing masks.

Since the Governor's announcement the Halifax County Sheriff posted that he is absolutely not doing shit about the mask requirement and basically told everybody in the County that it will not be enforced because the Governor doesn't have the right. Same place that has had the gyms open for weeks. Its fucking embarrassing and I'm glad we got the hell out of there a decade ago.

I wear one because I don’t go out frequently and my grocery game is ninja so it’s not a big deal. It is a terrible analogy I agree. But it’s not been proven that it does or doesn’t help so I wear it but don’t judge others who don’t. I don’t work in a place I have to wear it 8 hours a day so it’s not a big issue for me. People I know that do say it’s extremely inconvenient and bothersome. So to me. Wear it or don’t. I’ll keep on putting it on til there is a breakthrough that says not beneficial to be careful with the lives of others around me.

It's such a basic thing, a cough droplet landing on the inside of a mask vs landing on someone's face. Sure, something else could potentially get through a mask, that's why social distancing is also still important. A mask is about reducing risk, not eliminating, and its so easy that even a 10% reduction seems worthwhile!

But I’m not going to lose my shit if someone doesn’t have one on like some people have. To me it’s like yelling at someone parked in a handicap zone that isn’t limping. Maybe they have other reasons (a blind child, a severe back injury). Jumping to conclusions about a persons motives on wearing a mask or not fits this bill. So again. I will wear because it’s not a big deal but will not judge those who don’t.

Oh and I do wear a seatbelt. It has actually been proven to save lives.

The thread topic is how about judging people without masks. I don’t have the scientific data that proves it helps. Nor do I have a desire to harm others if it later shows it does so given that I will wear but it’s a personal choice. I believe in God. Am I 100% sure I’m right? No. But it’s better than being wrong and possibly going to hell. I think if you don’t have a medical reason it’s just better for everyone to play it safe and mask up if possible.

Oh and I would rather someone be wearing pants when they fart in my face. Good point. But dont cough or fart in my face please.

And to some it is those things my girl is a pharmacist and finds it bothersome. Her partner pharmacist hates it because it fogs his glasses and has facial hair that it bothers. Most people if things weren’t the way they are would prefer to not wear.
