Gyms
Salons

all 4 for me:

Barbershop is the only remotely tempting one.

Other 3 are a hard pass.

No for me. I need a haircut but I’m cool letting it grow. I can order takeout if I want. I already don’t go to a gym.

So what exactly are the parameters here? Like, on opening day? Or ever again?

Because if you people are talking about never going to these places again because of this pandemic, you're a pathetic bunch.

If you're never going again because you don't like any of these places, then you're very weird and we can't be friends, but at least you can lay claim to a spine.

I will abide by the rules, but as they reopen I intend to go to restaurants, bars, my barber, and even, yes, the gym. I'll also travel by air without a second thought, unless they change policies/prices in such a way as to finally make it unbearable.

I ain't going anywhere i don't need to go until cases slow-down dramatically for a good amount of time.

(i'll let others who want to start crowding back into bars/restaurants and see what happens, and then reevaluate)

I might go to a restaurant. I will go to a salon because my friend is a hairdresser and is in a private salon with her in a room by herself.

I will wait a while before I go to a bar.

And let's be honest, I wasn't going to a gym before, I won't be going after!

Premise was "when these places reopen" so yeah generally opening day/in the short term.

I will wait about 1 month, or as data is updated. I don't think we will see any effect early in the reopening. I need a haircut/trim but I guess I can just tie it up for now. I am a regular gym goer, but luckily, I have some home equipment.

No for all. Haven't paid for a haircut since I was like 12, just cut it myself.

The gym isn't really necessary unless you're a legit lifter. I just have free weights, medicine ball, pullup bar, resistance band, etc at home. You can do a lot with just your body weight. But I suppose if you're actually trying to get big you need access to bigger stuff.

Restaurants: Mostly no (outside of takeout/delivery), though will consider if outdoor seating is appropriate.

Gyms: NOPE, I have a home gym.

Salons: Maybe. Just buzzed my hair the other day, so that should give me enough time until I need another cut if I decide to let it grow in more to be styled.

Bars: Nah, I'm good with drinking at home (and that doesn't happen often).

Concerts/Sporting Events: 100% no

Hmm. Well, I certainly want to go to bars/restaurants shortly after they open; if I don't, it will be because reduced occupancy limits make them hard to get into. I might also wait on bars if they ban bar service (which they did in DC during the brief period between introducing some restrictions and issuing the stay-at-home). Sitting at the bar is practically the point of the exercise for me.

I'll wait on haircuts because I expect barbers to be full up for some time to come. Lot of vain motherfuckers in this city, and they all want their hair did. I would just give myself a buzz cut, but something about the shape of my head just makes me look like I'm sick and dying if the hair is too short.

I go to the gym in my office, so probably won't be hitting that up until they start making me come in.

Long story short: I'm willing to go to all of these places, and if I don't, it's because of factors other than COVID-19.

Immediately? Nope.
3 months down the road? Let's see how things are going.

Oddly enough, I do miss going to Best Buy and Dicks and just looking around.

I wish walmart would extend hours at least a little, 8:30 is just too early. At least like 10 or 11.

I'll be hitting the barbershop pretty soon if my usual spot is open. I'll probably call them tomorrow and try to get an appointment. Restaurants? Probably a couple or three weeks. I don't do the gym anyway. Rarely go to bars unless you count music venues and I think those will be a long ways out. Already missed a few shows we were really looking forward to and for the right band, I will take my chances. Can't be worse than what I've been exposed to at work through this thing since I work with a bunch of folks who think if they take any precautions whatsoever then they're officially a dirty, trump-hating liberal.

Restaurants - Will likely still continue carryout/curbside for a few weeks. Exceptions may be if they have a good socially-distance friendly patio

Gyms - lol nah

Salons - I shave my head, so lol nah

Bars - Similar to restaurants, though if some of the crew is organizing an outdoor hand somewhere I'll probably cave.

Yeah kinda coincidental for me. I usually get 2-3 bad colds every fall/winter. Had zero this year. By March I'm usually in the clear so that wasn't any different. Just a little odd, in a good way.

For those of you saying you won't go to bars or restaurants, but you will go to music shows, can you explain your rationale?

Take Cats Cradle for example. It seems like a floor packed shoulder to shoulder with drunk, sweaty (especially in the summer) people singing and hollering (and coughing) would be far riskier than a typical bar or restaurant.

Didn't go to bars before mostly, so don't feel the need to go to them now.

For restaurants take out is good for me, but yeah I'll probably be open to outdoor dining as a start at some point.

I go to lots of concerts and have missed out on so many during the last few months, so I am looking forward to getting back to those. I assume music venues will be no different than every other establishment in the country/world in that they will make changes reduce the chance of virus transmission including limited capacity. Will I be wearing a mask? Probably.

As far as personal risk goes, I'm sure everyone is weighing risk vs reward in all their decisions about where they go right now, and that will continue.

I feel really sorry for the teams whose job it will be to police the lawn seats for social distancing. That is going to be one drunken nightmare of a job. Hopefully they'll have deputies at these venues to help enforce.

My wife and I went to Brueprint tonight in Apex and it was fine. When we went inside (one at a time) we masked up and the staff and patrons all socially distanced and were responsible. Outside area we had 20 feet on all sides to ourselves. Was nice to get out and my son enjoyed being able to run around outside at a place not our house.

Was nice. But it’s Apex and a lot less busy than Raleigh it Durham.

Restaurants -- we've been a few times sitting outside with spaced out tables and it wasn't bad but I probably won't eat inside for a few weeks.
Gyms -- I'm going to our apt gym which has spread out the machines and limits to 10 people at a time now and I feel okay with it. Since I'm still working from home, I can go whenever and it's not crowded.
Salons -- considering this one but I'll still probably wait a few more weeks.
Bars -- definitely the last thing on this list I'll do if we're talking about inside but there are a lot of places in Florida with good outdoor spaces that I would feel comfortable going to.

It was bagged up takeout that I was going to eat in the car, and I decided to sit at their outdoor table and consume it there instead.

But sure dude let's have a long dragged out argument about semantics all night. Sounds fun.

Restaurants: Not planning to eat out anytime soon. Gotta go back to work next month so I might do that then for lunch, but more likely to get takeout and eat it in my office. We previously did takeout every other day. Lately wife has been on a diet so we've been grilling chicken more and she's been preparing some tasty food.

Gym: Don't go to the gym so that probably isn't going to change.

Salon: Got a hair cut scheduled for Saturday. Haven't had one in months now. I'll wear a mask and shit but that is the most going out I'm planning to do anytime soon, at least until I return to work next month.

Bar: No time soon. Beer/liquor at home is much cheaper. I'd rather just invite my friends over to drink here than go out and be around a ton of other people. We built a firepit two months ago during the lockdown and I am planning to pick up a picnic table to have an outdoor entertainment area.
