How long has Aunt Jemima been around? 100 years or more, right? Well it just so happens that it's not until just now that they rethink things and decide that their mascot is racist. Their jumping on the bandwagon of woke-tards.

It's not a big deal to me because I don't buy it, it's cheap and highly processed, nothing like actual real maple syrup.

^^^Actually, a couple of decades ago, they acknowledged that Aunt Jemima was racist and redesigned her image. They got rid of as much of the mammy caricature they could. Didn't erase the origins, but they tried to make it less racist.

Those are big departures from one another. So much so that it makes me consider that you have no reasoned opinion on the matter and are either being contrarian or are just mad that the world is changing and will choose and say whatever you can to voice that, even if what you say is entirely inaccurate.

Yeah believe it or not there’s tons of racist shit that persists for years and years before people wise up and attempt to change it. There’s racist shit that has become so commonplace that lots of us can be blind to for any number of reasons....maybe it’s because it’s been around so long people don’t even really notice or pay attention to it, maybe it’s because I’m white and that type of thing doesn’t register as readily with me, maybe it’s because it’s just a syrup bottle and not something many people pay much attention to. None of that means it’s not racist. It just means the company (or the public in general) haven’t been forced to turn a critical eye at its mascot and reckon with its history and origins.
