After today's testimony, it is going to be hard for the defense to paint Floyd as a violent, angry, and combative person.

The body cameras give a big look in. One officer kept wanting to move him and get him on his side but Chauvin didnt care.

He will definitely get a murder verdict.

The witnesses alone have been instrumental. Now with the body cameras...

I believe the one officer trying to get them to move him to his side may not be as culpuable.

Chauvin though, screw him.

I'm sure the very non-racist Telegram is booming with cries of tyranny today.

I flipped to the Ingraham Angle last night for a few minutes. They were doing a segment about how the Woke Left had crafted the narrative that the he George Floyd killing involved racism... but white people are killed too, so how can the George Floyd killing be about racism?!?!?

Just pointing out that if there was no video the PD would have stuck to the original story that he "suffered a medical event" during the encounter. It was conveniently left out what caused the medical event.

he's not facing 75 years, in reality

Quote :
"The sentences for all three crimes would likely be served at the same time, not consecutively. "Generally, when an offender is convicted of multiple current offenses... concurrent sentencing is presumptive," according to the guidelines"

also

Quote :
"Technically, Chauvin could face up to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder, up to 25 years for third-degree murder, and up to 10 years for manslaughter.
However, Chauvin has no prior criminal record. The state's guidelines say that for such a person, the presumptive sentence for both second-degree and third-degree murder is 12 1/2 years. The judge is given discretion to hand down a sentence between 10 years and eight months and 15 years for each.Second-degree manslaughter carries a presumptive sentence of four years for someone with no record, according to the guidelines. The judge's discretion ranges from three years and five months to four years and eight months.
However, prosecutors are asking for a tougher sentence than the recommendations provide.
In two filings last year, prosecutors said five aggravating factors warrant an increased sentence. Those factors include that Floyd was particularly vulnerable, that he was treated with particular cruelty, and that children were present when the crimes were committed.
If the judge applies aggravating factors, it would shift Chauvin's sentence to a higher part of the legal range.

I was wondering, how often do people face multiple murder charges and a manslaughter charge for the same murder? I found it odd, but maybe it's not unique.

I hope the judge OK's enhancements, because he murdered someone in front of minors.

I'm worried about sentencing. Anything less than life in prison and shit will burn.

I’m guessing 8-15 years. Purely a guess. Highly doubt the max of 40

I'll go with 12-18 years and eligible for parole in 8, with good behavior.

I am glad I am not alone in this, I don't understand how all 3 counts are for one death yet they are varying degrees to severity of crime. Is Minnesota criminal code just that unique?

How does the appeal process work, is it a judicial panel or another jury? There is no way this is not appealed the judge basically said as much. Which probably means he will agree to aggravating circumstances and sentence the max and let the appeals court settle it.
