Fingers crossed here

I'll take it. Give Georgia a little more time to think about whether they want to be stupid or not. Economy might continue to improve before a runoff.

I think economy might get worse before it gets better.

Stock market run up might reverse if GOP Congress stops looking likely, although closely divided Congress might still be pretty favorable.

Kinda crazy to think that FL is now fairly firmly red, and GA is at least purple.

Stock market often reacts favorably to a divided Congress. But as is often repeated, the stock market is not the economy.

^ exactly

^^ I mean, I we’d disagree on a lot…I’m obviously far from a Democrat…

But I pulled a straight (D) ticket this cycle, no Republicans last time (some D, some L, some abstain), and majority (D) the previous election.

I thought I saw you were still potentially in on DeSantis

Regardless, i guess two plus how ever many ways are vote overlapped. Handshake meme to our useless votes!

Red wave is seeming more drizzly but night (week?) is young and a drizzle could see both house swap control.

Rubio failed at almost every turn, most of all every time it really counted, regarding Trump.

I was never going to vote DeSantis over Charlie Crist. I never even entertained that. I didn’t vote for him the first time over Gillum, although I wanted him to win (I probably would have voted for DeSantis in that election had it been clear at the time how much of a colossal dipshit he was running against).

I could, I suppose vote DeSantis depending on how he shapes up in a Presidential run and who he runs against. It would be a major stretch, though. I can’t imagine voting for him over Biden.

But make no mistake. I range from “oppose” to “fucking loathe” all these Democrats. It’s only due to the catastrophic failure in multiple ways of the GOP.

I expect that if you could ditch the politics and purely go on genuine policy preferences, I’d find both Rubio and DeSantis decent. Maybe even good…but that’s not reality. They’re poisoned by the politics they’re beholden to.

It’s funny this is a historically great outcome for the incumbent party but it’s still a bad outcome

Gop will be pushing as hard as they can to defend trump for his crimes in the house.

^^…do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion…

I’m less concerned about the foreign ones. My friends and I can kill them with blinding efficiency.

It’s the domestic ones who worry me.

I did some work and the district looks completely different so no Budd silver lining. Still glad Hines lost obv

Silver lining here is that hopefully the broader gop realizes how toxic trump is and if he’s announcing a run in a few weeks— they will not rally.

Hell, the republicans gaining the house could be beneficial for 2024
they literally have no policy and them having the house will put them on the spot

meanwhile the senate could still do approvals and what not

Seems like the shock at slavery amendments and not-as-convincing-as-you-expect results around the country shows many people don't realize it's stills legal to make inmates work for free or very low wages in many parts of the country.

Imagine having to run in 4 elections in 2 years for the same senate seat.

I think if Senate control is already decided before the 6th for the dems, Warnock wins by a landslide. Otherwise it may be closer
