Anyone here into sim racing?

was for 10+ years, got to the point I couldn't devote enough time to be competitive and enjoy so I let the subscription lapse.

I took the plunge just to practice for real cars but it seems people are really serious about competing online. Are most of the folks gran turismo/forza converts or real car drivers looking for practice?

I just stick with Gran Turismo. I have a wheel and pedals but that's it. Pretty budget stuff as well.

I'm all for racing online often, but I prefer BoP races that ban tuning because I don't have the time to fuck with millions of suspension configurations.

I have a home-made wooden rig with a 240sx seat and Quest 2. It's pretty amazing but I hardly play. It's one of those things let sit for months at a time and then randomly play it for 6 hrs straight, ha! It's kind of a mental hurdle to commit to a session with all the updating and VR configuration, etc.

I enjoy Assetto Corsa. I don't do leagues or groups, but I'm usually in the top 2-3 spots of any random public server. But as mentioned above, you'll randomly have guys with fine-tuned suspension turning whole seconds faster, making you go wtf.

If you don't already, donate a dollar or two and get your hands on "Content Manager." It's a launcher for AC and is much better at... everything. And do VR as well.
