I engineer the hell out of them!
Right now I'm working on highly flame-resistant base layers for use in the oxygen-rich environments on the manned Artemis missions to the moon. NCSU's own Christina Koch gonna be wearing my fabric on Artemis 2. Maybe.
Otherwise I have worked in industrial reinforcements like the fabric portion of pretty much all duct tapes of any brand in North America, Jacquard woven side-impact airbags for vehicles, and fabrics for structural firefighting turnout gear. It has stayed pretty consistently interesting to me. We still manufacture domestically. No interaction with Bangladesh.] 9/14/2023 8:03:59 PM

I really like that -- connecting with such a variety of fields through your area of expertise. 9/14/2023 8:36:20 PM

Yo are you working with JSC? They are the primary NASA center for space suit design. With me at MSFC, combined with Christina Koch that makes at least three NCSU alumni contributing to Artemis! There are a few others here at MSFC, but they aren't on TWW so they don't count. 9/19/2023 6:02:21 PM

I think the NASA contacts for the project are based at JSC, yes. Although I don't claim to fully understand the rather opaque organizational structure. Jacobs Engineering is the contractor somehow. 9/19/2023 8:12:59 PM
