I have a 5g phone but I'm only paying for 4g service. Whenever 5g shows up as the signal type, things seem to slow down to a crawl. I'm sure it would be great if I weren't cheap and paid for 5g service.

Verizon kinda sucks the 2 times I’ve had it in dfw. Feel like att is much more solid. Sometimes with verizon 5g i still can’t load things. The other times it would get choppy in areas but not choppy with att

Just signed up for 5G home. I'll report back regarding how it goes, should be delivered on Wednesday. They say I can get up to 300mbps, for $40/month. Right now I'm paying 80 with Spectrum for 115mbps down. Plus I'd just like to give Spectrum the finger.

Thanks RJ! Good luck with the service.

I agree, always fun to tell Spectrum to fuck off!

I went out for lunch, which happened to put a Verizon store in my path, so I thought I'd pop in and see if they had one in stock, and they did.

I'm connected to it now, and while I'm not getting the 300mbps as promised, I'm still getting as much, if not more, bandwidth as Spectrum. And at half the price for the next two years - I can't really say no.

So, so far I'm happy with it. I also learned that you can set the 5G router to pass-through mode and continue to use your regular wifi router, which is good because I have quite a few settings I'd have to redo.

For those with cell service with Verizon, the Home version is $30/month, and the upgrade, which promises 300-600mbps, is $40/month. I'm just paying for the home version right now.

I can only get tv or internet from AT&T, best I can get is 50mb down. Texas acts proud about their electric grid, but their internet racket with the apartment complexes out here are anything but free
