And that's a fair point. I don't love the trade, but we've been in QB purgatory for years and the NFC South was wide open for the taking. Can't fault us for taking a shot, all things considered. 9/18/2023 10:20:45 PM

I get that I’m probably just being sour right now. But taking a shot by trading your 2 best offensive weapons and drafting a not sure thing feels like a bad shot Imo. Idk. 9/18/2023 10:24:28 PM

Hard to evaluate a rookie drafted for his potential to execute an offense who doesn’t have an overwhelming physical advantage to fall back on.
Obviously I don’t expect him to be amazing out of the gate. But if your talent is being a distributor on offense , going 14/23 for 91 yards before garbage time is pretty sad
If Bryce had the Steve Smith who played in Cam’s first game, how does this game go? I’m not sure it would have made a difference.

he’s always gonna be compared to Cam, and he very well could become a better QB than Cam….
…but comparing their first two starts is incredibly jarring 9/19/2023 12:48:51 AM

I'm loving all the "they should start Dalton in week 3 to give us the best chance to win" takes. If we don't win the Super Bowl this season, Bryce's window is closed! 9/19/2023 1:27:01 AM

Bryce Young is a rookie making his 2nd start lets temper the expectations, he is by far not the biggest issue.
The running game was nonexistent this week. The OLine was awful especially the left side where you had 2 NCSU alums get manhandled almost the entire game. Cade Mays was so awful he got benched. The Interior was not getting a push yet they kept trying to run Sanders through the A gap.
The WRs can't get separation and its obvious Bryce is still thinking about those 2 throws in Atlanta that were picked off.
The playcalling on offense was abysmal and Frank Reich is deflecting blame, which is going to lead the media to criticize Bryce's decision making.
The strength of the team is defense but injuries are piling up. Horn out for atleast a month, Shaq probably out for season. Burns looked banged up and we will probably be 0-6 headed into the bye with the schedule we have, Chicago I am sure is super happy to have a top 3 pick again.

Reich is a bad coach and playcalling is absolutely the cause of most of these issues. 9/19/2023 10:21:27 AM

Young will be too injured in two years time to be an effective starter. The Panthers will sign Colin Kaepernick to a 1 year, $12M deal to replace an aging Andy Dalton. They will promptly become only the second team in NFL history to win 16 games in a regular season. Unfortunately, they will lose a tight NFC championship game to the Giants and the league's current MVP, Daniel Jones.

I mean, if they’re gonna keep endangering Bryce then I don’t even really hate it. Obviously Bryce needs to play and develop. But how much development is gonna happen with this bad OL and WRs? 9/21/2023 7:10:49 PM

How much of the bad OL play is Bryce holding the ball too long and not making good reads?

I'll admit I've hardly watched any of the first couple games because life, but the few downs i did see were much more an indictment of qb play than ol. But again, i think that probably has more to do with the coach than the actual qb. 9/21/2023 7:46:36 PM

Holding the ball too long is debatable, but I think Bryce has been making solid reads given the marginal opportunities he's been getting. We just can't get open. I think the link GenghisJohn shared is pretty illustrative of that. 9/22/2023 8:34:23 AM

One of the few plays i watched from the last game, they blitzed, the line picked it up and Bryce never looked at the guy who was wide open for a quick throw for an easy first down (Thielen)
Also around this time the coaches called two screen passes in a row which ended disastrously...the second of which ended in a strip sack because Young held onto the ball and scrambled instead of throwing it away when the play didnt develop, which is just something you cannot do as a qb on a screen. 9/22/2023 9:55:54 AM
