I'm still confused why he was there. That' not common, is it? A celebrity waving good-bye at the end when they weren't on the show at all? Was he maybe in a sketch that was cut?

^I was thinking that he might've been in a sketch that didn't have time to air. Or maybe it's more common than we know for celebs to just hang out and watch the show, but we don't always notice them at the end.

Yeah, it was pretty hilarious, especially liked the Beavis & Butthead sketch.

(I think i'd give this episode the nod over Brolin's since Stapleton>Grande)

I guess it's always been like this, but this 49th season seemed to be very hit-and-miss.

I thought a few episodes (Gosling, Brolin, Gyllenhaal) were about as good/funny as they get, and a few just seemed terrible (except maybe a skit or two). Obviously it has a lot to do with the host.
