It's a subgenre of heavy metal, but this is new material, so with influence from various other genres and subgenres. I just like the band. Assume this will not be the strongest single from the new album, but it's the first and so far only release. They are unapologetic nerds. Previous albums led to frequent comparisons to Iron Maiden.

I had a chance to give it a few spins this weekend, and while I wish there were a few more upbeat songs, I think it's pretty great and was reminded that he's one of the great singer/songwriters (and guitarist). I'm really looking forward to seeing him in October.

1 definitely beats 2 imo. 1's vocals have this fringe that should be annoying, but I kinda like it. The second just isn't catchy.

What I find more interesting though are the comments. I went to 'new' and there were these randomly obvious bot comments sprinkled in that were saying stuff like "Loved this content, thank you", etc. All new accounts. I wonder if they're used by artists for engagement, or if not just the general bots you see everywhere and I wonder what those are for
