I think that friendship is generally formed through a combination of circumstance and "struggle".
When you're past your early/mid 20s, can you really find that as much as you used to? Could you really trust anyone like you could a "bro" from middle school or high school?
I feel like unless you're part of a type of job or community in which you're actively working on something that resembled those school and maybe college circumstances, like maybe serving in the military together, or working intensely on some project of passion or reporting or something, could you really ever trust that person? And that's the difference, I don't mean hanging out, I don't mean just being a "bro", I mean that trust of a brother you have in friends from the school days. You know each other as kin to a certain point, even if it was simply by association in some ways. I don't see myself being able to do so, unless of course, given those specifics. I guess you replace that with family of your own at that point?
