Not really a conspiracy, but this is just an inevitable outcome when healthcare prioritizes profits over, you know, helping people.

Murder is bad.

This is also an occupational hazard when you choose to become an executive in the privatized death panel industry.

Shooter is dying or someone close to him, they can't afford healthcare (because our healthcare system is shit because it prioritizes profits over helping people), he went a little crazy/nothing to lose.

Um, it seems true to me that there are occupational hazards... guy got shot because of his job.

Didn't realize we lived in a society where citizens just got to decide for themselves who they think is and isn't deserving of execution.

It's pretty wild to see left and right takes both advocating for ^^

He feels the need for practical guidance, and since he has rejected and destroyed the present he is compelled to link the new world with some point in the past. If he has to employ violence in shaping the new, his view of man's nature darkens and approaches closer to that of the reactionary."

Apparently we do, it happened here, and it happens everyday (acknowledging it isn't condoning it, and hopefully he'll be caught and punished).

The killer apparently had a spare e-bike battery with him and may have pre-positioned the e-bike ahead of time. He also wrote deny, defend, depose on the shell casings.

How does NY not have a network of cameras that could’ve potentially mapped out this guys route right after the shooting? I mean shit every house in our neighborhood could potentially do this with their ring cameras. I guess by the time the police would be able to get access to them all, the shooter would be long gone.

And for those saying that this guy deserved it…I don’t think any CEO is a great person. I fully believe that you have to be cutthroat to make it to that level, and that you’ve almost certainly had to be an asshole to attain that level of success in corporate America. Being an asshole doesn’t warrant execution though. But insurance companies hire third party companies for claim denial. They set the percentage of denied claims, but they don’t personally do the denials.

And for what it’s worth, I’m not talking about the CEO of a mom and pops company that employs 100 people. I’m talking about CEO’s of companies like UHC.

^ obviously both public and private cameras probably mapped his path. For private you'll need a warrant and that takes time. Assuming the public ones are all on the same system, which probably isn't reasonable, and accessible through a consistent interface, how many hours of video (number of cameras / city block * 15 minutes) you'd have to wade through to find and map it? At best you'd be talking days if all the video is available to a single agency in a consistent format.

Also, his shots were not covered by his medical provider, because he was out of network.

NYC does have cameras but he knew there are a lot less of them in Central Park. They do think they have a shot of him riding the e-bike 15 minutes after the attack (I believe near 85th street). They have a partial shot of his face which may be enough to make an ID and also apparently there is a bottle of water left behind that may have been his (DNA possibly on it).

Quote :
""And people wonder why we want these executives dead," Lorenz wrote hours later, referencing Thompson’s death in a Bluesky post with a report about Blue Cross Blue Shield no longer covering anesthesia for the full length of some surgeries.

Lorenz also posted an image of Blue Cross Blue Shield CEO Kim Keck with a similar article on both Bluesky and X.

She reposted another user who wrote, "[H}ypothetically, would it be considered an actionable threat to start emailing other insurance CEOs a simple ‘you're next’? Completely unrelated to current events btw.""
