OP, can you embed every YouTube video there is in this thread? I get tired of watching ads on their site.

^^No, but you can install a competent ad blocker and then watch YouTube videos from a browser instead of the YouTube app and never see another YouTube ad.I can watch a 2-hour YouTube video with zero ads for free. You can also cast to your Smart TV or streaming device and avoid ads that way.Join me in the terms of service violations!]

bro so one of the guys I'm following.. I feel like it might be thoughty2? he has some interesting videos. I think it was his anyway, but he (they) said that ok well I can't seem to get my thoughts together but it was something like the vast majority of the computer data that's ever been created was within like the last 2 years. and it's been a good bit of time since I saw that, so I can't remember the estimated amountbut it was absolutely staggering. I know AI has produced a massive shitload of useless data, but I didn't realize that it was to that extent. and I'm thinking it's not just AI either. probably just more people using the internet worldwide, faster speeds, better technologyI don't get surprised very often but I was semi-surprised by that. after thinking about it, it's not so surprising but hopefully it will be some kind of wake-up call that we need to fucking slow down on artificial intelligence. unless AI itself can figure out a way to make energy that's beyond any of our current energy-making methods
12/7/2025 8:16:12 PM
I think the surprising part was that it was something less than 2 years, like maybe 1.5 years
12/7/2025 8:16:53 PM
I'm in favor of solving difficult problems that will help humanity.I'm against a mountain of terrible and useless content drowning out everything good.
12/7/2025 8:22:41 PM
when you walk into a grocery store, you can buy fresh vegetables, or you can buy junk foodchoose wisely
12/7/2025 8:36:58 PM
How about a grocery store with 10 items you want hidden among 10 million you don't?
12/7/2025 8:50:02 PM
the 10 items are still there, and there are people who know where they are]
12/7/2025 8:54:58 PM
Well, that's part of the point of this thread, isn't it?(It is!)
12/7/2025 10:23:32 PM
oh for sure. i'm mostly banging the drum about the people who see the rise of AI generated slop and think (or more accurately are convinced to believe) all AI is bad, but have spent their entire lives swimming in a world of slop books, music, tv, movies, and people and managed to avoid reaching the conclusion that all books, music, tv, movies and people are bad and should therefore be banned or at least slowed down.let the sifting of bad and good continue
12/8/2025 12:14:13 AM
I understand your point, but I also feel it's a bit different with physical items you select and may then own as compared to digital items promoted by algorithms. It will get more difficult to sort and find as the volume of slop content continues to ramp up. Just browsing the YouTube thumbnails on "recommended videos" demonstrates that. But are real people watching and enjoying this at appreciable levels, or is it just botnets popularizing their own content?

^^ I, too, had that video show up in my feed
12/16/2025 11:51:35 AM
I feel like you should probably post links instead of embedding 50 videos onto one pageyou know, unless you enjoy making other people with old computers shit the bed
12/16/2025 2:45:24 PM
also my computer is downloading random HTML files bc I have this page open lol wtf is going on
12/16/2025 2:46:15 PM
How old is your computer for real? It's not like it plays all the videos at once. It's thumbnails. Nobody would click links, or I'd have to manually label them all. I'm trying to use my premium status to its full potential!I'm viewing from a phone. It works fine.
12/16/2025 8:32:28 PM
I think I'm getting slightly sick of your accusative attitude sir
12/16/2025 9:59:19 PM
Well, why don't you just answer my reasonable question?I bet my computer is older than yours, but it still runs TWW like a champ!]
12/17/2025 8:59:33 AM
Lol I bet your computer is older than his too! NTTAWWT
12/17/2025 9:12:19 AM
lol I got it in 2010it sort of loads videosIDK like it loads almost every site fineit shits the bed on Facebook though (I spent approximately 0 hours there per day so it doesn't matter)IDK what FB has going, but it's obviously way too much shit going on in the background
12/17/2025 11:04:49 AM
Damn! You win, because mine is from 2011. Well-played!Obligatory: "GET A NEW COMPUTER, POOR!"
12/17/2025 11:13:18 AM
GET A NEW COMPUTER, POORS![Edited on December 17, 2025 at 11:15 AM. Reason : but yeah i will probably do a lighter weight video embed approach in vnext]
12/17/2025 11:15:20 AM
Buy me one!(So that I can give it to BubbleBobble, cause that's pathetic!)
12/17/2025 11:16:48 AM
It's probably your browser more than your computer. Are you using Firefox ESR?
12/17/2025 11:18:42 AM
I have a new laptop, I just like this one better it was obviously designed to last, doesn't have bloatware and spamthe new one is fine, but it'll take some getting used to
12/17/2025 11:22:16 AM
Well, are you using Firefox ESR on the old one?
12/17/2025 11:29:05 AM
I use Firefox, but IDK what ESR is
12/17/2025 8:47:03 PM
Mine starts with 19...
12/17/2025 8:57:15 PM
ESR is Extended Support ReleaseA browser for old computers no longer officially supported, but still gets some updates and maintains capabilities longer.
12/17/2025 9:31:28 PM
regular FF seems to work mostly fine but, yeah I prob said it ITT but like for instance Facebook likeee I can't even use it hardly. I type a message, but can't see what I'm typing (I know I'm typing it like 97% accurately) but it literally takes minutes. I go to other tabs to do other stuff, go back to that tab and it's still inputting my data, like literally at maybe 2 characters per secondreally weird stuffI wonder if switching to ESR would fix thatthough again, I hate FB and idk why I even care about that
12/17/2025 10:18:33 PM
Yeah, Facebook is garbage and should be avoided. Firefox eventually stops offering updates for an older operating system. Then you need to switch to ESR. What operating system are you running on your computer from 2010?
12/17/2025 10:22:24 PM
surprised Bubs doesn't use Opera GX since that's the official browser of gamers
12/17/2025 10:23:59 PM
I'm home in NC for the holidays and successfully watched a full embedded video without any random HTML downloads (or ads!) and am now posting in this thread on a fully 19-year-old computer (late 2006) just to beat BubbleBobble. That's right -- this computer is older than Smath74's claimed girlfriend. Fight me, BB!
