^^ This makes it looks like the agent is in front and the wheels at the start of the roll are definitely towards the agent that shot her. In the moment it probably would have been safer for him to jump out of the way rather than risk getting missing and still getting run over. Also, the officer has to assume she may hit someone else in the get away since she has already ignored their commands.

^ Having agents and police around is a good recipe for fuck ups and accidents and would prefer not have thousands of them around. Mistakes happen, but this is clearly not a mistake as far as the law is concerned.

A jury may convict him, but it's likely the whole thing will be thrown out. You can see in the twitter video the officer is actually struck by the vehicle.

If you're so passionate about the matter try to redefine a car as not a "dangerous weapon".

To prove it's murder you have to prove he had intent to kill. Short of him saying, "I am getting in front of her car as a pretext to kill her" you do not have that. It's possible it's manslaughter if you can prove general recklessness, like it happened in prior incidents with the same agent. Generally what the defense will do is say he was poorly trained, new, and scared and he believed his life was in danger even in the case he was mistaken. This is all that is required to beat both charges. So legally, using the legal definition of murder, no it's not.


Morally, without any other context, like video of kids playing in the street in proximity to the scene, having reasonable suspicion the owner of the vehicle was a violent felon etc, he definitely morally put himself in a bad situation.

I’ve watched the video I don’t know how many times looking for a reason for that guy to pull the trigger on that weapon, and I just can’t find one.

Cael, I’m a Republican, I’m a conservative, and I’m here to say that it’s ok to break away from your party line. Especially when it comes to things like this - this could have happened to anyone. You’re relying on brainless idiots to make an intelligent, informed decision and they can’t, or won’t.

There was zero reason to detain this woman. If we was breaking laws, then call in local PD and have them handle the situation.

Unfortunately though, I think first degree murder is going to be a very big uphill battle for prosecutors. Maybe second degree might stick?

Oh and Trump’s defense of this guy is just pathetic.
