people are gonna fucking hate me for this one. but if you wanna get people to subscribe and actually not just use this board to post the pics they wanna show their friends, then make non premium users have a limit of photos.

I figure you don't really need more than about five pics to let people know who you are.

j/joe are already thinking of doing this, i'm guessing it'll go into service when they start paging photo galleries, as they were suggested at the same time.

non premium does not mean non-user or that the user doesn't post. I'm not premium, and that's because i need every cent I make to pay the outrageous tuition at Clemson. I got this account a long time ago, when everybody's was free and it didn't matter what email address was associated with it, and I use it for posting and for pictures.

But I understand there are problems with space. That is a natural side effect of having a database/message board, and when you've got a lot of people you've got to manage it somehow.

So maybe there should be a limit, but not such a tiny one as the 5 you're suggesting, raven. That's a little unfair to most users.

What do you suppose happens to people whose premium membership runs out?

i think because there are various lengths of premium membership, that the number of pictures allowed should be stepped, and once a premium membership expires the number of pictures should not be re-limited...but if it is renewed that the number of allowed pictures should double

say 50 pictures for a standard user and increase upwards to a person with a yearly membership getting unlimited server space (obviously, they dont get double space if they renew)

i think 50 is enough, ive seen people with upwards of 600 pics that has to be a drain on space

Will those who already have that more pics than the chosen number be able to keep them or will they have to either register as a premie or delete them?

theres's already been a topic on this

people would be allowed to keep what they had, but when adding new pics, they could not go above 50.

this idea would be cool, but i think there should be a 'common folder' for pictuers like the "no" guy and others that everyone on the board would like to use

that would be cool. it would make posting those easy and you wouldn't have to keep them in your own gallery.

I think raven brings up a good point. plus that would help ease some of the bandwidth problems and save some $bling
