SO, you want things changed at NCSU? Well here's your chance to make it happen. Step right up and do your part to make NCSU a better place for students. Run for a position in student government.

Filing to run for all Student Government Office positions is going on now until Monday, February 25th @ 5:00pm.

To file for office:

• go to the 3rd floor of Witherspoon Student Center
• get one of the Elections Packets outside of the Student Government Office (turn left off the elevator)
• fill out the Intent-to-Run form in the packet


The following positions are open for election:

Student Government -- campus-wide office

• Student Body President
• Student Senate President
• Student Body Treasurer
• Student Chief Justice
• Student Body Public Defender

what does the student media BoD do?

They're most important job is handling the hiring of the heads of each of the Student Media, but they also offer feedback on operations, finances, improvements that need to be made, etc. Basically they're designed to be a student-based focus group of sorts helping keep things running smoothly

The catch is that you can't be a staff member of any of the Student Media, and you can't be in Student Government anywhere

Not really a focus group. Student media BoD is mostly heads of media corp's in Raleigh/Durham and a few student reps. Most of the time during meetings is spent discussing the reports sent in by the student media organizations (Technician, Nubian Message, Agromeck, etc). There's not a lot the BoD does regarding finances except listen to and read the budget info.
You vote for new student media editors etc in March.

If you're thinking of trying to get on the BoD, PLEASE let's get a student TV station up. They say it'll take 10yrs from the get-go... I say false, put money from other budgets into a TV station. We're the last college in NC to get one .
