People arguing against having gay people in the locker room are fucking retarded. There is 100% chance you have had a gay dude in the same locker room. Are you still walking funny? I am assuming because it is such a big debate one of you have been hit on or raped while in the gym, right? No dude wants to fuck you no matter how bad you want them to.

You are essentially saying that if you arent aware of a potential issue, then there isnt a issue. Horrible logic.

What I am saying is you're making an issue out of something that isn't. I know. It's very complicated.

I didnt say it was an issue. I did say that someone stating that they'd prefer not to have gays in the locker room as a position statement is not discriminatory based on already accepted standards.

The 'issue' is painting Leslie as someone who discriminates against gays. Based on the locker room statement, you'd be a moron to jump to that conclusion, or someone who cant see beyond their own bias.

Here is what I am saying in short. I don't give a fuck if you care or not. You don't say it. Not on twitter, not to journalist, not to people you don't absolutely trust. Not when you're an athlete with attention being put on you.

I don't think anyone is arguing the fact that CJL made a poor decision by posting his views on a very polarizing subject on twitter. That goes without saying.

Quote :

By that logic, women should be OK with guys in the locker room as long as the guys don't make any physical contact. And similarly...

Quote :
"No dude wants to fuck you no matter how bad you want them to."

So ugly girls shouldn't have a problem with guys in the locker room, right?

Barkley on gay discrimination:

http://aol.sportingnews.com/nba/story/2011-05-17/charles-barkley-says-hes-played-with-gay-teammates-didnt-care

[quote]“Society discriminates against gay people,” he added. “They always try to make it like jocks discriminate against gay people. I’ve been a big proponent of gay marriage for a long time, because as a black person, I can’t be in for any form of discrimination at all.”

This is what I think every time someone that is black discriminates against gay men. I'm glad that Barkley is opening up about it since the Sheridan story came out on ESPN.

I don't agree that feeling uncomfortable in a locker room with a homosexual is discriminatory. I have been a huge proponent of gay rights since my cousin (basically a brother) came out to me, but this is an issue I don't agree on.

If you agree that there are reasons to separate genders in locker rooms because of privacy then you should understand why anyone could be uncomfortable. We separate genders for privacy, so that everyone is safe from being viewed in a sexual manner. This is not dependent on any actions, its simply sight that is the standard to base privacy on. Many will respond to this issue by saying something like, "but it's not like they/i would hit on you" but that is not the same standard when it comes to gender so why is it so outrageous in this situation? And of course we all have probably been in a locker room with someone gay and didn't know it. But if I was in a locker room with someone of the opposite gender and didn't know it, I would feel comfortable and would feel like my privacy was intact. The problem comes when that invisible blanket is removed.

The problem is obviously more complex than simple gender lines, and there is probably not a good solution, and the solution may be to tell people to suck it up, but being uncomfortable with it does not make anyone homophobic or discriminatory.

I am not trying to drag this on anymore, but as a guy I know that there are lots of men out there that will grope a women in plain daylight if they feel like it, yet I have never heard of this being a problem with gay men groping guys. The difference being that women for the most part are weaker and defenseless.

Gay men, however, could get their ass beat by flirting with straight guys on the locker room, and it clearly makes sense to me why this is not a locker room issue.

I am 100% positive that gender neutral showers would run into groping problems from guys a lot faster that some users are willing to admit.

Anyone think Barea would feel a little bit uncomfortable surrounded in the shower by a couple Amaechis? Think he would pick up the soap?

Just asking...

well if they are literally surrounding him, and these are two confirmed gay Amaechi's, then i would imagine most males would be uncomfortable

i disagree with your contention that we only separate genders because of the threat of sexual assault.

by that metric, if we provided security and cameras then everyone should feel comfortable with mixed gender locker rooms. but... most people would still not be comfortable, and its because of the things i mentioned above.

How would the gay version of Wilt or Magic be accepted in the locker room? You know no one wanted to get in the locker room hot tub after the Lakers were in town. Magic had it full of bitches the night before.

Should they at least have seperate hot tubs for gay and straight players?

^ i think that's a good ballpark.

I'll go with:

30 mpg, 14.9 ppg, 8.7 reb, 1.1 ast, 1.7 blk, 0.9 stl, 1.9 TO, 46% FG, 61.5% FT, 30% 3P.

Good enough for 3rd team ALL-ACC (with potential for 2nd if we do well).

Also one studious poem and one unprovoked comment against gaydos.

I'll go with 18 pts, 8 reb, 3 ast, 0.8 blocks a game

2nd team all-ACC and a projected mid to late 1st round NBA pick.

^ way too low on the blocks. Can't see anyway he doesn't average at least 1 blk a game and I'm betting at least 1.5

Three assists a game seems pretty unlikely, last year he was always looking to score and didn't seem to be a great passer.

Scoring is always tough to predict because it's really a function of how many shots you take. I think his usage rate will stay about the same but that'll he be quite a bit more efficient. He missed a lot of bunnies last year because he didn't have enough leg strength to maintain his balance. I'd imagine he'll be a lot stronger this year and have the athleticism to finish those. His jumper was off for most of the season, so I'd imagine he'll shoot better from the line and perimeter this season too. He could average 18-20 if everything falls into place for him but i think 15-17 is more likely.

are people to be denigrated b/c they have a genetic response to homosexuals?

i guess cj is supposed to pretend he likes to eat dog shit and fuck fat girls too when asked.
