much like pawprint

I live in Garner, work near campus, and will provide my own cleaning supplies, but unless we negotiate otherwise, mop/bucket and vacuum are two things you'll need to provide. If you do want me to use your supplies, let me know.

Negotiable?

From having looked on craigslist and having cleaned houses back in HS, somewhere in the neighborhood of $10 an hour is where I'd start from.

Obviously I'll charge more if I have to drive a good bit out; what I'm doing will also impact the price: If you pay me to do your laundry, I'd probably charge by the load, instead.

I want to get some numbers from pawprint to make sure I'm not way off base with this.

Yeah, oddly, I can do everything except fold them. There's not much else cleaning-wise so I don't know if it would be worth it for you. Wouldn't even take an hour.

$50 for 4 hours of cleaning, no lazyin' around. Half now, half after I inspect. Fails inspection, you fail to receive other half

^^^depends on the condition of the room

^^Where are you? Depending on where you stay, I may ask you to wait until after my car is fixed, which will hopefully be this week. I'm trying to
1) keep driving to a minimum
2) stay near my usual areas of occupation (i.e., garner and west raleigh/campus, for now.)

^There's no need for that. I don't expect to be left alone in your place, and if you have doubts or concerns about my work, I would hope you'd speak up at the first chance, and not risk being displeased.

Available Saturday any time? I might pay you to do some spring cleaning OFF KAPLAN:
- Clean windows/vacuum the window sills between the storm windows and the regular windows. Wipe down window sills with wet rag.
- Vacuum floors.
- Mop laminate floors (easy to do...Just spray them down with a spray bottle and go over it with a mop.)
- Scrub shower...It's not bad.

I'm sure I could find more stuff if after I do the pre-cleaning. Also, I think I remember you liking flowers. I could probably let you weed my flower beds and you might have some recommendations for more stuff to do to them.

I have stacks of rags that I wash and re-use and all the cleaning supplies so you wouldn't need to bring anything.

I might have to take you up on this, I am a lazy bastard especially when it comes to laundry and especially folding laundry. I probably have like 10 loads worth in different areas that I may be willing to pay just for you to sit around and study and keep em running and fold em while I chill and continue to be lazy. Did you ever come up with a rate per load for laundry?

I didn't.

I think for just folding clothes, I'll keep the $10/hr rate. When it comes to washing and drying, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

So...after having talked to pawprint and some other folks, and having first cleaned for someone...$10/hr is WAAAAAAAAAAAY low. $15/hr is what I'm going to charge - that's more in line with the going rate, but also still on the low end. Folding clothes will remain at $10/hr.

^^Yeah, that's kinda far

In a couple weeks, I might can clean for ya.

^Cool

This coming week, Tuesday and Thursday are excellent for me to come clean for yall I've got to be done by ~430 Tuesday; Thursday, I have no evening obligations.

My dad could really use this, too bad he's in Charlotte. Hell, he'd probably pay for a tank of gas + time and materials for a days worth of work.

^^ It's non-taxed.

Proffessional Companies wouldnt dream of paying their employees $20 an hour.... ( around 15 after taxes ).

Not trying to hate, but im just saying everything is under the table and you're not paying taxes when money is exchanged for your services.

^^ theres a huge difference between getting $X/hour for a regular shift/job versus having to drive out to random peoples houses for 1/2/3 hours at a time.

its not worth it to drive out to BFE and clean for 2 hours and get $20

And it doesn't matter what companies pay their full time employees. It matters how much the consumer would have to pay the company per hour. She should take that amount and charge something ~20% below that.

^ $10/hr is perfectly reasonable, but I think in some cases, where the house is extremely messy and obv uncared for at all, then maybe a higher rate.

Going through a company you won't get $10/hr, too low

but craigslist I see plenty that will gladly take $10/hr to clean your home. Who knows if they steal your shit though.

Guys, like I said in my second post, prices are negotiable. I'm not some hardass with a firm set of guidelines that I expect to be able to apply to every situation.

If you want me to come, but don't wanna pay $15/hr, PM me, tell me you want me to clean (and preferably what, and tell me you don't wanna pay $15/hr.

Since I'm broke, the situation is obviously set up to your favor

Plus...that $15/hr is directly from someone who knows what she's talking about for this market.

Also, if you're concerned about the quality of my work or my trustworthiness, say so. I've been over to two people's houses now, and I'll ask them to post as a reference.

exactly. which is why she should be able to charge more than $10/hour. ntm I would expect her to do a better job than some random company.

yeah cause i wanna give some random person access to my house. that reminds me of the person on here who hired someone on craigslist to watch their dog...and the dog watcher promptly lost their dog.
