"Jiro Dreams of Sushi" is great. Mentioned once before, but worth a re-look.

May be really late to the party on this one, but I ran across Super 8 last night. Had never even heard of it, but I really enjoyed it.

Seconded as long as you're into that kind of thing. It's great as far as that genre goes.

Watched Evil Dead, Scream, and The Awakening all for the first time over the last few days. They are all very good.

^^ Watching it now. I am sure, over the years, I have seen bits and pieces but just like with the others I mentioned, I am sitting through it all at once.

Watched Death at a Funeral earlier too. A dark comedy with both Wash and Tyrion? Sign me up!

The Man from Earth

Tells the story of a man claiming to be a caveman who has survived on Earth for 14,000 years. The entire story consists of dialoge in one house.

psych did their 100th episode based around that movie, brought the laughs.

If you haven't checked out the series Lillyhammer, I'd suggest that.

smath74 thank you so much for recommending The Man From Earth! I loved it. The existential, religious, and simply historical aspect of it made it amazing. I can't stop thinking about the philosophical potential of the whole theory. Fascinating. Thank you for that.

Doesn't look like it's available for instant watch, but In My Father's Den was sensational (didn't feel like making a thread for a 10 year old new zealand flick)

Beauty is Embarrassing: The Wayne White Story

It's a documentary about Wayne White (an artist.. you may or may not have seen some of his best known work). But he's worked on a bunch of children's TV shows that many of you will know (pee wee's playhouse, shining time station, etc.).

It's pretty well done, and he's had a pretty interesting story. Probably more interesting for those who know of his work or have an interest in art.

I'm here to say don't watch The Comedy. Really just boring and not funny. And I really like dark humor. I laughed at fucking Happiness.

Interview with a Hitman.

Nobody's winning any acting awards for it, so don't expect amazing performances in that sense. It starts a little slow, and there's not a ton of dialogue. But it's pretty good and definitely worth a watch if you're unsure about anything else.

It's basically a hitman who's trying to get out telling his story of how he got involved with a Romanian mob as a kid. It's told through a long flashback.

There's a little bit of action in it, but I wouldn't call it an action movie. While it does pick up from the opening (which has no dialogue), it's sort of a slower paced movie. It's really more of a "story movie" than an action movie. So don't go in expecting anything fast paced.

It's probably a good thing they're not paying me to sell it..... it's worth a watch.

Nipples & Palm Trees - similar to the bukowski movie Barfly but set in L.A. with hotter womens. watch it if that sounds like a good idea

The man from earth - interesting storyline but be warned it was 90 minutes of people talking in a cabin
