WWE's cartoon for their network that is meant to have South Park-style humor. The character bios are what was sent out to prospective voice actors/actresses:

Quote :
"Executive Producers Seth Green, Matthew Senreich, Eric Towner and John Harvatine and casting directors Ruth Lambert and Robert McGee are looking for voice over work for the taping of "Camp WWE" cartoon for the WWE network. The shows will be taped on 8/9 in Los Angeles and all those doing voice work will be paid $906. It will be a non-union shoot.

The characters are very much an interesting twist because it so much involves the reality of the organization right now.

-The head of the camp is Vince McMahon, who is supposed to be 50 years old, a big brash, egomaniacal billionaire as well as a loving father who hates complaining campers and ass kissing subordinates, but loves money and power and is always thinking of new ways to run down his competition. The character is described and scripted with this line that you'll just love: "Clearly, the most intelligent character on the show."

-Triple H, also called Hunter, is a 14-15 year old Co-head camp counselor, tough and intimidating, a vindictive prankster who is always trying to get the respect of Vince McMahon and always trying to win the love of his daughter. He considers himself to be highly intelligent "but still has a long way to go."

-Stephanie is the other Co-head camp counselor, 14-15 years old. She has all of her father's traits, arrogant, intimidating, ruthless, but lacks the maturity to get the job done. She tries to run the camp but runs to her father at the first sign of trouble. "She's beautiful, bold, confrontational and fearless."

-John Cena plays an eight year old, the "most adorable, cheery, upbeat boy scout type," a cute goody two-shoes who will do anything to bring happiness to other campers. But even though he's a great kid, he's a polarizing figure at the camp who is sometimes used by others to do their dirty work and annoys people because he never gives up at anything and is always trying to inspire others.

-Undertaker is the scariest eight-year-old, a large gothic kid obsessed with death and mystical powers. His character is based on, you'll love this, Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy with a touch of Satin thrown in.

-Big Show is a big, dumb and gentle eight year old. He's both childlike and monstrous in size. He doesn't understand his own strength, nor the meaning of any word with more than two syllables. They want him to be an eight-year-old Homer Simpson.

-Mark Henry is "African American" (thank God for that), who loves girls and food. He brags that he knows everything about women, except it comes out he knows nothing about women, but he's the strongest eight-year-old in the world.

-Hulk Hogan is a camp legend who is huge, powerful and charismatic, but tired from being old and being from a different era, but he still tries to connect with everyone by calling them "brother."

-Brie Bella is cunning, cute and sneaky. Nikki Bella is the tomboy of the twin sisters, and has the most developed body of all the women campers. Sometimes they switch places on unsuspecting campers.

-Ric Flair is five years older than everyone else in camp, rides in limos and jet planes, is cocky, always styling and profiling, and he's the dirtiest kid in camp who shocks Vince McMahon with stories of his sexual conquests. The comedy is when they make the rich kid live in the wild with nature, so he's the pampered rich kid character being taken out of his environment.

-R-Truth is another African-American, who is neither big nor bright, but he's funny and drives people crazy with his misguided theories on why things are what they are, but he's also the most gullible camper who always gives you second and third hand information that is almost impossible to believe, which is ironic because his name is "Truth." "

...and Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka has stomach cancer.

Lucha Underground ended Wednesday with their big Ultima Lucha show. Please be a season 2.

Check out the show-closing montage they did. It was kind of like what they do at the end of a fighting video game where they show you what each fighter does after the game ended.

Sasha Banks vs. Bayley is the best wrestling match I've ever seen in person, and is certainly the WWE Match of the Year.

Rollins/Cena and Owens/Cesaro should be very good matches tonight, but they can't touch the emotion of that title match.

They made him stop doing it, due to a combination of bad optics with concussion-related issues in other sports and fears over parental lawsuits. A kid drops his brother on his head doing a suplex and there's no one to point to, but Rollins was the only one on TV doing jumping stomps to the head.

some random things:

-Seth Rollins is defending the WWE title Sunday against Sting, coming into the match with a lifetime 0-1 record in WWE.
-Raw meanwhile has for 2 weeks now had near record-low ratings going back to 1997, and this is just the start of football season.
-Dixie Carter told Sports Illustrated that TNA is done with Destination America at the end of the year. And that may be the end of them finally.

Sting has spinal stenosis, which may be a career-ender.

Undertaker-Lesnar was supposed to be one of the WrestleMania main events, but Vince changed his mind and put it on Hell in a Cell. Reason why is unknown.

from today's Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

Quote :
"The future of Bryan Danielson as a pro wrestler is now seemingly down to a third party, a neurologist to break the deadlock between his own doctor, who has cleared him for everything, and Dr. Joseph Maroon, the head of medical for WWE, who believes he shouldn’t wrestle again.

Danielson, 34, as far as number of concussions, is probably way past a number that would end a career in most sports. But he’s not at this point suffering any major side effects from them, but that stuff often doesn’t start showing up for decades and there’s no predictor of it. Plus, Danielson is not a heavy drinker, or a drinker at all, which some doctors seem to feel exacerbates the long-term effects of the concussions.

“One neurologist who specializes in concussions, who was the neurologist for the Super Bowl last year, cleared me with no limitations,” said Danielson in an IGN.com interview while promoting the WWE’s new video game. “All my testing came back excellent. But the WWE’s medical doctor (Maroon) is skeptical, because of my history of concussions and that sort of thing. So they will not clear me. So now, we have two doctors, one saying no, one saying yes. They’re going to send me to a third doctor at some point in the near future and that doctor will decide my fate.”

His situation has been at this deadlock for months. He is fully past the symptoms from a concussion suffered right after WrestleMania, the date of which, and details of which have been kept fuzzy because WWE is so cautious due to the lawsuit out against them on the concussion issue. They are going to err on the side of caution because it’s one thing to say when it comes to wrestlers from the past that the company didn’t know better regarding long-term effects of concussions, which is true to a degree. It was always known that taking a lot of hard punches to the head could cause brain damage later in life, but the Verne Gagne/Nick Bockwinkel/Red Bastien generation didn’t really know that a long career of pro wrestling could have those ramifications. It’s quite another if a wrestler diagnosed with a significant number of concussions in this day and age, returns, with the company is aware of past damage, and then suffers bad effects in a few decades. There is no argument that the company wouldn’t have been fully aware of the dangers of concussions. As much as fans want to see him wrestle, it’s probably not a smart risk for the company to make.

But Danielson wants to continue. He said that if things aren’t settled with him and WWE, he’s open to working indies. The reality is that he’s got several years left on his contract, and WWE is not going to release him to work anywhere where there is a threat he can be a key player in the U.S. marketplace.

He in specific said he’s gotten into Lucha Libre, and in particular talked of main eventing a CMLL anniversary show in a mask vs. hair match.

It has been largely believed that Danielson would go to New Japan at the conclusion of his WWE contract if they wouldn’t let him wrestle and he still wanted to. When Danielson was fired by WWE in 2010, he had just about completed a deal with New Japan to come in as a regular when WWE called him to return to be the mystery partner on the WWE team against the Nexus team at that year’s SummerSlam.

But he is also open minded to the idea of not wrestling if a third doctor rules against it.

“The WWE doctor, Joe Maroon (is) amazing and highly respected in the concussion field, and if they send me to a third neurologist who’s also highly respected in the concussion field and they say literally no, well, then, is it really smart to go against two doctors? I get all fired up, and then I’m like, maybe that’s not the best thing for me and my family going forward.”

Danielson said if his career was over, he would be interested in announcing."

Quote :
"The combination of NFL football and baseball playoffs, combined with a less-than-interesting product in recent weeks, saw Raw fall to a new non-holiday low of 3.27 million viewers last night. The only episode of the show since 1997 that did worse was a Christmas Eve show in 2012 that did 3.14 million viewers.

The main culprit was the combination of a Pittsburgh Steelers vs. San Diego Chargers game on ESPN that did 12.18 million viewers, a lower number than football has done the last few weeks, and baseball. TBS aired the Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals against the first half of Raw, which did 5.78 million viewers. They aired the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets against the second half of Raw, which did 3.96 million viewers.

The three hours were:

8 p.m. 3.52 million viewers

9 p.m. 3.25 million viewers

10 p.m. 3.08 million viewers"

Your WWE champion Seth Rollins has a record of 1-17 in the past month. The only win being over Sting.

Fitting end to his sorry title reign. One of the worst-booked champions in WWE history and that's saying something. Do you know prior to facing Kane for the title he was on a 1-17 run, with the only win being over Sting? and this was the CHAMP!

Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez were talking about this last night wondering if he was going to be out a long time, what it would look like. They have an upcoming European tour that both Cena and Orton are going to miss. So your headliners are guys like Kane, Big Show, Reigns, Ambrose, Ziggler, Sheamus...

They might as well pull the trigger on Reigns and give him the belt.

If Cesaro is in good enough financial shape he has security, he should let his contract expire and try the waters elsewhere for awhile as a fuck you. I think he could be a huge star in Mexico because he's big and he knows how to work with luchadors from all his time in Chikara. Problem is: it's Mexico.

I have the feeling they're waiting for Roman to be their new top face, and then when he's made it, BOOM! Cena heel turn echoing Hogan at Bash at the Beach. Roman chasing Cena should be a money program if Roman becomes what WWE wants him to become.

My first choice would be just to give it back to Brock, but I honestly think it's a perfect time to have Reigns win/turn heel. I don't think his face run is going anywhere, and hopefully turning heel would add a new dimension to his character.

I can see them turning Reigns heel and he wins because that's how WWE does things. Two problems:

1. This company is utterly incompetent not knowing how to book a young babyface to be their #1 star.
2. If Reigns wins and is heel, he can't be emasculated as Hunter's and Stephanie's lapdog as Randy Orton and Seth Rollins both have been.

Latest Wrestling Observer on WrestleMania plans:

-Originally, it was going to be Rock and Hunter. Rock is out, so that became Hunter and Rollins. Rollins is now out with injury til probably Summerslam next year, so Hunter needs a new opponent.

-Lesnar and Undertaker was of course going to be a match, but they blew that off at Hell in a Cell.

-The plan was Reigns-Cena, but Lesnar and Undertaker need someone to face. Orton's touch-and-go with a shoulder injury on whether he can wrestle at Mania.

-WWE's doctor said Bryan can't come back due to concussions. Daniel Bryan got his own doctor who also does work for the Arizona Cardinals with the results saying Bryan is above average for his age and the doctor gave him clearance. The underlying issue is Bryan screwed up their Mania plans two years in a row, and WWE could be sitting him to stop fans from hijacking shows.

-Being this Mania is going to be in Dallas at the Cowboys' stadium, they need to sell a TON of tickets. I think they're hoping Austin says he'll do one match, but Austin for the moment is staying retired.

Reigns-Cena? so that's some young face/old face pass the torch type of match? not crazy about that matchup

^^ah well I didn't realize guys spent so much time in NXT, I'd still like them to build Rose as some charismatic young bohemian type of character, sandow needs a fresh shot as well...and let's bring back drew mac too,

^ They don't, usually, but Breeze is a special case. He was signed in 2010 and is just now making it to the main roster as a result of a getting placed behind fast-tracked indie veterans (Rollins, Cesaro, Neville, Owens, Zayn) and staying down to high quality jobs to guys like Itami, Balor, and Liger.

Rose has a new Donnie Darko gimmick, but it's not on TV enough for anyone to even know it's a thing. He even pitched bringing back Leo Kruger on Twitter, so he's kinda floating at the moment.

Main event segment was the contract signing between Paige and Charlotte (yes). Charlotte goes tearful talking about her dead younger brother Reid Flair. Wasn't going well just because Charlotte's not that good a promo, and it ends with Charlotte saying the Flairs have fight in them, which Paige retorts back "your younger brother didn't have a lot of fight in him did he?"

The title tournament matches were mostly awesome. Reigns-Cesaro, bigtime thumbs up.

Cesaro impresses more and more...but of course its so obvious reigns was going to win that whole thing...(I mean maybe there's a 10% chance they push Ambrose some instead) maybe I 'm just more mature and understand the business more but wrestling seemed less predictable in the attitude era

^^^eh well relatively young, I think he's got pretty good vocal presence at least as far as his character is concerned...I mean it's pretty similar to the character they tried, just drop the party thing and focus it more on him, kind of like what they need to do with Sandow just restart his old gimmick but make it a little serious and better
